The RAM Mount is the way to go! Very solid and reliable. I feel very comfortable with it holding my iPhone. The cradle that the phone sets in works great and can be rotated slightly.
I also installed the TAPP USB outlet to power the phone. It's a new model with 2.1 amps to charge more power hungry devices like tablets. Installation was pretty simple. One end is secured to the handle bars and the other end is wired to the battery. There's a rubber cap to cover the USB port when not in use and to keep moisture out. I found that it drained my battery after a few days so I installed a cut-off switch and it hasn't been a problem since. Here are some pics of the install and final product. I have a short black iPhone USB cable on order Charging the iPad

I found that annoying so I prefer the finger grip. It was annoying to look down and see the map or whatever twisted to the side. |

It has a little give both ways which is fine for me. But it would nice to go into a portrait mode at times too.

RAM has a PDA mount with adjustable sides 2 solid hooks on the bottom with th top 2 spring loaded. I've used the same mount for all my phones. I'm not a big fan of heavy duty cases as my phone lives with me.
Personally when it rains or is stupid hot it goes in the top box. The Bluetooth works just the same. For long trips build bigger play lists. http://www.gpscity.com/ram-mount-uni...ond-plate.html

I've been using Lifeproof case with bike holder, and am very happy. The case is solid. Will not try to swim with it, but it will hold any rain and dust. The holder is just perfect. Simple design, it holds tight. For power its simple and easy, but for Iphones 4 you need the original cable charger. Its the only that fits.
