Yamaha's website shows an OEM accessory for $179. Linky

Twisted Throttle has them from SW-Motech for $200. Linky

No idea on the differences.

Laminar lip, or no lip, buffetting is what you do at golden corral.

I have one on my Vstrom Adventure and, as far as I can determine, it does not do anything,

That's what I was afraid of . I can live with the noise but I would like to quiet it down without spending a lot of money. I'll keep looking for a used stock screen that I can cut down.
I had a VStrom and liked the bike but I could never get rid of the turbolance. It was like getting slapped around every time I got near or above highway speed. And trust me I tried the madstad bracket and 4 different windscreens. Nothing worked except for no screen at all.
The FZ6 does not beat me up . But it's a little noisey from the wind. It's something I can learn to live with. Thanks NJ-Bill

Yes I do. And I have Shoei helmet. I'm just used to nice clean air from riding other bikes. Like I said I can live with it. I guess I'm bored and it's something to do. But if anyone has a used stock screen they want to get rid of. I'll buy it.
Also I've been looking at a Laminar lip set up. They seem to be wider as well as a bit taller. Has anyone tried one of these ?
I've added some SWMotech crashbars and put some highway pegs on them. I like the way the crashbars fit. And the highway pegs give my legs a different position when riding on a long ride.

I an 6ft 6 and have the madstad screen. It is a pain in the arse to adjust, but when you get it right it works really well. As far as highway pegs are concerned I just rest my legs on my frame sliders.

I'm pretty sure I still have my stock screen in the garage. What year is your bike?

I was browsing the '12 brochure last night, drooling over the FZ8. Flipped the page and got to looking at the FZ6R. I have never really paid any attention to this bike before. I just wrote it off as a budget replacement for the FZ6. I have read some good reviews though...

It is a steel tube frame, cheesy swing-arm, budget brakes, budget suspension, smaller f/I system starter bike marketed to females and new riders. So, you were right to think it was a budget replacement for the FZ6 because... Well it is a budget replacement. (and it doesn't belong in this thread)
