All I gotta say is 'you can have em!' I'll pass on the brevets. Give me a velodrome and I'm a happy camper.

Misjudged the rain. Got appx 30min in to a 2hr ride and the pink stuff on the map turned green. So, since I already had on Gore Tex and other waterproof or resistant stuff, I kept on going for another 90min, including 60min of Tempo.

Its 36-38deg and coming down slowly, so it isn't *too* bad. That hour or Tempo made me sweat. Both layers of wool were soaked thru when I got back. All I gotta say is thank doG for wool 'cause while I was chilly when I got back, I wasn't cold per se.

Thanks! I'm really liking it too. Might have to go back out there soon with a real camera to nail the shot again.

got the bike FINISHED tonight!!!!!! even took it out for a slushy ride...LOL put a half mile on in the dark and snowy weather here in chicago, and it rides nice and smooth, gears all work great, which was a bit of concern to the LBS, seeing a 52t road crankset on a MTB frame...LOL

The profile data for your ride look quite rich. Is the Strava site supplying elevation along mapped routes? How dyou get such a detailed view of the ups and downs?

I'm prepping for a May ride from Berkeley up through Wine country, out Navarro to the ocean, then back along the coast. Six-seven days, 325 miles or such. I've been using Google maps to figure distances, but haven't found a good resource for accurate elevation data along the roads.

Of course, we'll stop at the Bovine. http://goo.gl/maps/P04oE

Hey Andrew-
Not sure about the finer points of Strava (whether you have to make an account or not). I use ridewithgps.com for some motorcycle/bicycle stuff, it seems similar. Here's a pic (of something like what you're talking about, that I just drew up).

Thanks! It's all easy training rides for now, but will be a job to string together multiple 50-mile days, six in a row.

Should be a great ride, and a nice season for it. Are you staying in B+Bs along the way? I always find myself riding (motos) up that way, I gravitate towards 128 and comtche-ukiah road.

Crashing on floors of family and friends first few nights (Napa, Healdsburg, Boonville) then at motels/B+B along the coast. No camping gear to weigh us down! Riding with a friend from college, we used to take long day rides to clear our heads after engineering exams

Thanks for the tip, that's a great tool. Here's my better route: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/2183399

Strada Bianche is this Sat.

Think 'hilly Paris-Roubaix in the sun of Tuscany' and you've got the idea
