Thanks for an informative and entertaining RR. I lust for trail but my 800XC is not made for the tracks you took.

Bravo
Your RR was not too wordy and not inundated with too many photos...just right. You kept my short attention span stimulated and that ain't easy!

Gregg, I agree about the oil changing! we tried to keep it close to the ktm maintenance schedual which is every 15hrs. The new moter shares the engine and tranny oil so I really felt the need to keep up on it. We only changed the oil filter once in Loreto so changing oil wasnt too bad. I guess thats the price you pay for the high performance engines with small oil capacities!

Absolutely great RR! Some fantastic riding down in Baja, and so much to see off the beaten track. A little pig is on my list to ride those sections, fingers crossed that happens soon!
Thanks for posting all the road details and info, very informative. A great inspiration! Where to next?

Great report mrdozer!
Really enjoyed it - loved your photos, especially the dog ones. You have a nice eye. Hey, I think we did the "what the fuck were we thinking" trail, but in the opposite direction. ![]() Make rocks your favorite! Quote:

heh, stupid is as stupid does. I'm working on the pics right now, they should bring back some good WTF memories for you! ![]() At the very least, we'll find out if that was the same trail. I spoke to JD on 2 occasions, so I got to hear lots of stories! fun stuff. |

Thanks for reading it Ceasar! and thanks for for 990 oil change line. Thats a great idea, saves hours of nonsense removing shroudes and tanks just to change the oil. I'm looking forward to checking out your bike! take care, Rich

Rich, this was an awesome ride report
It was also very expensive to read for me, as you already know When I started in on this, I knew I had to "get me one". A KTM 500 EXC that is ![]() I used a lot of your mod ideas and tips you sent me and that I found here. Bike is ready Wednesday. A public thanks to you for being generous with your knowledge and insights. Now I aim to capture the Baja essence so well written in this ride report |
