I might suggest a helmet, gloves, and pants unless you're trying to score a bigger slice of the inheritance.

we like to think were a tough, and physically able family, LOL

- but your right, once we hit the road a helmet, gloves, and pants will definitely be utilized.

I wanted to make my black 2012 KLR more visible at night -- on the cheap and without totally ruining the good looks of the all black design -- so I just slapped on some reflective tape and am pretty happy how it turned out.

I first bought some JVCC engineering grade reflective tape from FindTape.com via Amazon. It was pretty underpowered stuff so it went back and what you see below is Reflexite retroflective daybright white, school bus retroflective conspicuity orange, and a red corner strip that I cut into a large block on the rear fender. Pretty. Damn. Bright. Almost too bright...

No camera flash.

With flash.

Rear red block.

Yikes.

No flash.

since my KLR spent the better part of the last 2 months looking like this while I dubbed around and picked away at a complete service..changed the fork and shock oil, flushed and changed the coolant, oil change, checked and lubed every bearing on the chassis, changed all the ones in the shock pivot, sorted all the electrical out again, jetted the carb, had the racks and crashbars powder coated, added a flashing LED brake light....Hopefully she is all ready for a long season of abuse

This picture makes me very happy
All done and buttoned back up waiting for a break in the snow to take it for a shakedown run.

Thanks!

You reminded me to do an introductory post, so I threw some pictures of my past bikes and a quick hello here.

Hahaha!!! Thanks buddy. Remnants of hurricane Katrina. It was only a rental house, and I moved from there about a year ago now.
