Not very, I made those when I was trying to improve my MPGs, when the coolant temp is cold and up to a certain temp (dont know what temp), the ECU tells the injector to add fuel (choke/fuel enrichment). My bike's ECU was reflashed by the PO and it is very rich, it runs cooler than any Husky I've heard of. Except for single-track, I can run all day long with the louvers shut and my fan never comes on, which means my water temp never makes it to 220F, that puts my oil temp around 180-190F . I run the louvers shut while on the road to the trails, then open them up for single track. I can ALMOST get 35 MPGs that way.

My 08 510 gets horrible mileage. I never run it on the highway so there's really no way get a figure, but all my buddies ride katooms and even though we all have big tanks (IMS 3 gal on mine) I can never really get more than around 80 desert miles out of it safely....

currently only 600 miles on the machine. Really would like to get out and do more this year.
IF anyone has suggestions, I am looking for a slip on exhaust.
3 dealers said they have nothing that will fit this bike.
Thanks for all your pics and post.
Ride More 2013.
Post some pics, then we can see if the Lambda probe is still in or out, we'll be able to see what muffler you have, that's a left side muffler, if it was right side, you could fit something from the orange world.

You are probably getting around 30-32, you must ride alot of sand, that'll spin the wheel. And your ECU is probably mapped pretty rich like mine.

Thanks for your reply JAke.
This bike is a 2008, so Pipe in on the lsft side. Bike is completly stock.
SO, no I have not updated to the upgrade. Only thing that has been done is, the air clearner restriction has ben removed and I installed the JD EDI kit. That kirt was one of the best things I have done so far.
I was hoping Leo Vince has a slip on for the 08's, but thus far, not seeing it. Sorry no pix. I have not joined up with smug-mug as yet.

You might get better response at http://www.cafehusky.com/forums/4-stroke.69/

Here's the TE 450 with a Kato friend, the Husky is celebrating 13,000 miles, on a bushwhacking ride, we just pulled off the side of the paved road, up a wash, kept going up, great traction, Colorado River/Lake Travis drying up in the background..

BG joins team husky

Sold the DRZ and bought a husky te450 in about 350 miles on Saturday. Just checking in here and wondering if there is a "best" thread for FI TE's on here TT or cafe husky. I have not found much other than this thread so far. A point in the right direction would be appreciated. I took it out on pavement for 30 miles today, oh man, my seat is sore, my teeth are chattering, my feet are numb, and I cannot stop smiling

Look around at the forums you mentioned and you will find a lot of information.

Here's the best location for Husky info
http://www.cafehusky.com/forums/4-stroke.69/

My thread chronicles my 2010 TE450 which now has over 13,000 miles and running strong,
http://www.cafehusky.com/threads/dua...-tricks.15347/

just recently had to replace the rear brake pads and am getting the muffler hanger welded up.

Give seat concepts a call. Best option I have put on my TE510. Also, be thankful you have the safari tank, (wish I could afford one), as the Huskys like to drink the juice. Good looking bike!

I was joking about the seat, it is not that bad. It will be my first upgrade, had a tall one on the Z and loved it.

I picked up a 2010 TE510 awhile ago. I can't seem to find the vehicle compliance plate. Not sure if its missing or just hidden. It's not on the neck next to VIN.
Would someone let me know the location of theirs so I can confirm the absence or presence of mine?

Thanks.

J

There's a sticker on the rear fender, under the seat, on my 2010 model, have you looked there?
