They'd be better if I had a real camera. I've been using a Casio Commando on my trips and a beat up old Kodak Sport because they are water proof. The kodak is one finger and hangs around my neck for on the fly shots, both 5mp. Thanks, I so very much want to go back there. Those were taken on the Edgerton Hwy a couple hours or so out of Valdez, Alaska. It's a dead end road but worth it. I'm looking to finally get a real travel camera that can live in bad weather, preferably a Pentax WG-2 with GPS. The nice thing about using the Casio is the photos can be geo-tagged so if I forget where I took it, I can get the coordinates from within. You have to go to the source of the photo, you can't download the ones above, but if you go to the photo where it is linked from like on my photobucket, download to your desktop or where ever, you can right click the photo and browse the properties to get a GPS coordinate of where it was taken. Some times it is pretty accurate but sometimes off a hundred feet or so. BE CAREFUL when photographing children and things you don't want stolen with the GPS in your phone or camera turned on, the location will no longer be a secret. Downloading from Advrider seems to strip personal data from the files. End of the road, Kennecott Copper Mine (taken at midnight) ![]() ![]()

I'm surprised you didn't include a picture of the Kuskulana bridge- made in 1910. You rode over it on the way to Kennecott. ![]() ![]() I hope you managed to take the tour through the mill when you were at Kennecott- that was well worth the $25!

Sorry, I did not get to see the inside of the mine. I saw one guy while I was down there and he was as personable as and looked like the moronic gang leader on "Wild Hogs". I did use my bike as a step stool.... ![]() to take a walk... ![]() to see a river... ![]() That road was very rewarding in both scenery and wildlife. The only Grizzly I saw was on that road. Also saw a mother and calf moose just 30 yards off the road. It was also the only road where I nearly bit it. I wasn't paying attention and hit a "creek crossing" at speed with only enough time to get 6" of air between my butt and saddle before crushing my nuts into the tank bag when I hit the lip on the other side. Luckily it was less than a foot deep but a good 10+ wide. I guess the water had to cross some place. There was one sectgion getting rebuilt and the Inn owner in the village before the rock cut said they state had planned to improve the road for more tourist I plan to go back after I pick up a fresher 950 or go through my motor. By the time I can afford both, mine will be closing in on 100k miles

Today, someone actually asked me "So you would rather have one of these than a KLR650?"
It took all my willpower not to let my jaw drop. ![]() "Uh... yeah.... I like my Adventure way better than the KLR I had 15 years ago". And then I went on a night ride to clear my head

I can't ride because my collarbone is healing, but I still have to warm her up.

![]() I can't talk for others, but IMHO... bigger or smaller, almost everyone seems to have a cheap side now and then... .
