suzuki GSR thread

hi all
sorry if a thread has been started b4 but i cant find one,if so delete this one,
I've had my eye on one for some time now and its a mean looking street fighter, so what are they like to live with,anyone got one?

At least it looks like they got a lot closer with the bars than the only thing available in the U.S., the gsXR. Suzuki did recently have a bike here called the GSF650, which had a much more sane riding position than their GSXRs, but still looked pretty much the same. Guess it made too much sense to sell here.

Your hands won't go numb on a GSR, therefore, it has not enough "character" for you Jerry. That's why Suzuki didn't offer it in the US, lack of soul...

Actually, if it uses some form of the GSXR engine, you can count on your hands getting very numb, very quick. Part of it will be the super high frequency vibration of the inline four engine, the other part will be from the circulation being cut off in your hands as you support most of your upper body weight with them. Literally, supporting all that weight just squeezes all the blood from your palms.

On my former EX500 Ninja, I was coming to a stop once, engine running, still in first, clutch in, about to put my feet down, when I realized I could no longer feel my legs. To avoid dropping the bike I released the clutch, gave it some gas, and got back on the road. I spent the next 10-15 minutes moving my legs around off the pegs, skimming my heels on the pavement, until I was finally able to stand on the pegs. Then I pulled off the road, got off the bike, and took a nice long break. If I still smoked, it would have been about a half a pack break. Last bike of that type I have had, and will never have another.

Decent mag reviews, competent, easy to get on with, slightly bland, if you believe the journos.

Loses out to the Street Triple in every group test.

The new, revised, Kawasaki Z800 also gets good write-ups.
