The Fat-tired Trials Bike has a tremendous amount of merit to it. That might be the only way I could possibly clean the rock section at the EX track.
Or maybe I should just be content with getting the swing arm bushings machined for the BWs. Ready for another project? I have one ready to mail to you. Regards, Mr. BigWheel I really wish you had not brought up the concept of a BW trials bike. Now I'm not going to be able to sleep tonight.

Jamie,
You were my sole hope for unloading the Scorpa on an unsuspecting, unknowing trials enthusiast. You weren't supposed to watch the video. Now what am I going to do? I guess I'll have to race it again next year and hope for the best. Shercoman, I initially thought of all the guys on this forum who put 19" rear knobbies on the front with a wide supermoto rim. An 18" dirt knobbie would round out the rear of the package and you'd have the world's first Adventure Trials BIke. But would that really be enough? Doesn't the GG or Sherco really deserve a 26'" atv tire on the front? And something ridiculously wide, maybe 12 inches wide, on the back? I think that if you are going to go big, you should go Really Big. Regards, Mr. BigWheel

Maybe I'd take fewer points in the Trials if I had a flat profile 12 inch tire to balance on!! Would that be considered cheating? |

With the reintroduction of the No Stop Rule, I don't think balancing is really that important anymore.
The shiny, new Gas Gas 280 has arrived and all I've done is stare at it as it sits on a stand. The red frame reminds me of a Ducati's trellis unit. Picking it up off the stand makes me think of a Navy dirigible. Everything else is so perfect and tight that I can't imagine converting it to a Fat Tire Trials Machine. Yet. It is only an Econo model, but I'm still having a hard time soiling her with transmission oil yet.(the three feet of snow are keeping the motivation fairly low too) How about a Rotax-powered '99 Scorpa? It should be available after October 26 and will only have a few more laps on it by then. Regards, Mr. BigWheel

There is a shiny, new GG280 sitting in the shop that I just uncrated.
There was one piece in the bag that had the manuals, footpegs, tools, etc.. that I can't identify. Does anybody know what this does? ![]() There's no mention of it in the manual. Is that the part that keeps the transmission from going to pieces? Regards, Mr. BigWheel

Just taking a total guess as I have never seen one of those bikes, is it the wearable part of the chain tensioner?

That fills the gap between 4th and 5th gear....
Actually it does sorta fill a gap - in the footpeg as a KS stop. nobody uses them. If you do install it - the 1st step is picking the right hops... |

Forgot to add, to the Original Topic:
Then if Endurocross is Trials, I say Hill-climbing is too. |
