BTW... I am headed to the Western Slope for some riding next week. I am planning on JQS for Thursday and Friday. Then something further west on Saturday and Sunday. I have invited our Moab Comrade. I will be bringing my Girlfriend who is a C rider. Wanna come play?
Yep- pm me your number- If I can swing it with work, wife and whatever, it'd be great!

I'll be on a WR450, haven't done it before but have GPS tracks!
I just moved up to GJ, from the flat lands (OK specifically), I have Shinko 705s on my KLR and was wondering how limiting will they be around the GJ area. They worked great in OK, but I don't suppose they'll do the trick around here, especially some of the steeper single track.

Pretty much although that looks a little more solid than what we rode. One of the guys bike broke through in one area. Had to ride it CCW, the dropoffs into the pools were all frozen waterfalls. The stream along the front half was only frozen in the shade, in back (where you pic was it was mostly all frozen. It's on the verge of clearing out.

I would say that staying in the RV area would be your best bet, but there are others here that know the local area better than me.

Hey, I took all of those photos after smoking 602 and unaweep through that canyon!
I'd imagine it's better now, I should be available Friday, we can check.

I think 602 and unaweep know I'm only joking.

Please don't make me mention the drop off at the Enduro Loop.

Greg,
With temps as high as they are about to get starting tomorrow, that ice may be gone come Friday. I'm still not sure if I get to play Friday. If not Friday I wanna meet up with another couple if inmates camped out in Moab for a ride on Sunday. You in if Sunday?

Keep me posted, Friday would be best for me.

I would hope the ice is gone soon, but some of those deep canyons may keep it around for a little longer.

Possibly, hard to commit to anything after Friday... I'm selling the WR to a buddy and now he's talking about getting it on Saturday.

Wishy-washy answer, I know... but it's a good thing. There may be something smokey and Orange replacing the WR.

Just to throw myself out on a plank, or be captain obvious, which KTM smoker are you going to get? I've got a 200 and would vote 300.

Welcome to the good side of the Rockies. No really, you're gonna love it here.

OK, I just have to ask. Are you saying you might ride a KLR650 on singletrack? Post time and place so I can show up with a camera.

lol. I suppose that would be quite the sight. Haven't ridden in the mountains for over 20 years, so my idea of single track is obviously not going to meet w/ reality. OK single track, no problem, CO, eh . . . I'll get back to ya.

Thanks for the welcome, btw. I grew up in the mountains, but left for grad school. It's nice to be back.

Thanks for the confirmation and the welcome.

Which motorcycle store in GJ has reasonable prices on tires, accessories, etc.? Or is it best to purchase online?
