On another note, do any of you guys/gals have experience running Speedplay pedals with non SP shoes? I really want to get the new Sidi Wire shoe but I do not like the fact that the Sidi wire SP only comes in white so I am looking into the Sidi wire vent and getting the SP adapter. Any suggestions?

These are the Wires i want..
Buddy of mine is over those shoes too. They have a 4-bolt sole option.

Otherwise, use the shims provided with the cleats to make the base of the cleat level. ...like on every other shoe.

Thanks Gummee. Yeah, I saw they offer the 4 cleat ( Speedplay version ) but it only comes in white . I really want the Fluo Yellow version ( 3 hole ). So I guess I will just go with it and run the adapter plates. Man I really can't wait until everything comes in!!!

I had 3 pairs of Sidis at one point. I finally got tired of looking at them and sold em. They didn't seem to wear out!

Right now, I'm riding Bonts. Mmmmm stiff! Mmmmmm moldable.

I have a few pairs myself. From motorcycle ( Vortice Air, Crossfire SRS ) to Mtn / Road bike ( Dragon 3 & Ergo ). I love the way they fit me. I haven't tried Bonts or Specialized. I'll have to try them at my local shop to see how they fit.

Here's my mtb. Had it for about 7 years and beat the crap out of it at least once a week. Destroyed both wheels, a couple carriers, and have gone though gearsets and chains. I do about a 20-30 mile loop from north austin to, and around town lake staying off the main streets. I'm thinking of a road bike but it seems to me I'll get a better workout on this. Clip-ons took some getting used to but worth their weight in gold.

I have a pair S-Works, two generations ago (4yrs old, now), that I loved when I rode Speedplay. You definitely should try on everything you can, before zeroing on a single brand.

It's hard to believe how quickly Specialized change-up their shoes. Good thing, I'm not a shoe whore.

not a problem; i've been using Sidis with Speedplays for years.

i wouldn't have any problem with the white shoes since they should be cooler in the sunny conditions i like to ride in. (i've got several pair of Sidi cycling shoes, and the black ones are hotter; was actually looking for white when i bought my last pair, but settled for silver/grey).

white's also great for conspicuity because our feet are almost always moving, but that hi-viz color should also do a pretty good job. (too bad it's only on the front of the shoes,..)

be sure to try on the pair you're going to buy; not only because you're likely to have them last forever, but the 3 pair i have fit best in 3 different sizes (and my Sidi moto boots were another).

After 8 years of commuting and constantly changing components, I have finally reached nirvana.

Perfectly purpose built, hard working commuter with a bit of style.

Mean Green is the color, pretty close to Mopar green I dig it.

Damn, that's pretty slick. I know others have done gearboxes before, but not with nearly as many gears (or as wide a ratio spread), and usually too bulky and heavy to work on anything but a DH bike. This looks workable for trail bikes. Even if it's a little heavier overall, the weight is better placed and unsprung weight at the rear wheel is probably significantly down.

I've been toying with the idea of building a new rear wheel with an internally-geared hub for my errand bike. The derailleur has been working fine, but I haven't built a wheel in a while and would enjoy the project, and it'd be something new to play with.
