I dont want to sound like a sissy but there is a lot of drag/pull on my clutch lever and I think it might stem from mineral oil. I will be flushing mine for some fork oil this weekend.

Actually I am running the syth stuff myself for over 10K miles.
It holds up well, does not degrade due to the heat like the mineral oil does and the performance is still the same. Just my .02

Do they mix or do you have to bleed out the old stuff first?

I use 5w full synthetic fork oil without any problem. I have also mixed with ATF in location where I cannot get fork oil.

If you have mineral oil then it is just a good idea to flush and refill.
You can prolly mix diff fork oil if you had too but I would try to keep stuff in the same family. ATF, Mineral, Fork etc etc

Well ok, maybe the very least little bit, I might remember when I first put it in there but I don't notice it now. Hows that?

for those interested, I had to find fluid at the weekend to do a slave cylinder swap (from OEM to Oberon), and couldnt find anywhere selling the right stuff.
So I used LHM hydraulic fluid, which is a mineral oil for hydropneumatic syspension systems, such as on Citroen's, some Merc's, RR, and old BL stuff, exactly the same colour and weight as the stuff already in there and seems to work just fine, and cheap too, I got it for £4 for a liter from Halfords. |

I have a better chance of finding a meteorite than the fluid you mention...

It's all mineral oil, just with different additive packages. ATF and fork oil are actually designed to be lubricants, whereas mineral oil from the drug store- not so much.

I've used synthetic fork oil in my 990, 690 and 300 for years with
great results. The same stuff I use in my forks. Max
