Ok it's time to get back to work on this project.Today I spent a couple hours in the shed,I got the fairing mounts attactched to the head light.I have yet to figure out how I'm going to find the right spot to drill the holes since I can't get my hand in there to mark them !!!.
I also made the mount for the 1.5 gallon Kolpin aux fuel tank.

Got back to the build today,I got distracted by buying a new bike.
Got the fairing mounted and painted and got the rock shield built and installed.

I ordered a pair of Seahorse 720 cases for it and will build the mounts next weekend.

Thats going to block a lot of airflow.are you looking at putting some 'speed' holes in that sheet?

I agree, it looks like you might over heat it from the lack of air flow. The front fender does look like you would be able to start a lot lower and still get a decent amount of rock and debris coverage. How about posting a side shot?

The top of the guard is below the coolong fins and YES it's getting holes drilled in it for cooling.
I had a GS850 that took enough rock hits on the oil filter cover that 2 of the nuts were destroyed and I had a hell of a time getting them off.

Got the rack done today. It took awhile to figure out how to make the bags detachable but I got it.
All thats left is to bolt up the rack and weld on the hwy pegs to the crash bars and then it's road ready.
I will be mounting up the TKC80's around the 1st of June.

Impressive!

Excellent job on the rack! So often "home made" equals "cobbled", but not this one.
