IMO todays gas.... E10 and Non-Ethanol.... is all crap with a shelf life of about 2 hrs.
The 66 station in Meridian where I used to get all of my Premium non E10 gas now only sells 87 oct.

What do you guys use to treat your gas, if you're going to leave it in there a while? I've just gotten in the habit of putting Seafoam in, if it's going to sit a while, but that stuff isn't cheap....

Fuel stabilizer
The problem with most fuel treatments is they are only good for 90 days. As we all know our winters are a tad longer. I treat with this company's products. http://www.bgprod.com/products/fuelair.html. Great product and yes more expensive, but they definitely have ethanol gas treatments that work. Jeff Beynon is the distributor here in the valley. I also make a habit of firing it up once a month in the winter just to keep everything oiled up.
cheers

My dad owns a lawn maintenance business up in MT and has to pickle all his equipment (some 20+ different motors) down for the winter. His go-to is the Stabil Marine formula. He says it seems to work/last considerable better/longer than anything else he's tried.

I also have a landscape maintenance business and used stabil for all of the equipment over the winter. So far everything has started right up with no carbs to clean. Even the small 2 strokes are in good shape. Yup, treated everything but the DRZ

I believe I've gotten it at NAPA, it's been a while since I bought any.

John, I may regret asking but just what exactly is "a good Italian tuneup"?

HEAR YE, HEAR YE, tis that time once again. Mother Nature is again showing her beautiful preamble of spring and bestowing upon us the desire to cast off the slumbers of hibernation and rejoice.
It is once again time for the community gathering of gregarious camaraderie. Let's charge up those batteries kick the tires and fire up the engines and kick it off with a fun ride to Prairie and back via our beautiful backyard of gravel roads. You can bring your own meal/snack or support the local business by purchasing a hotdog or burger and then start our ride back. This will be a easy ride filled with inspiring scenery along the, meet new new folks, or see old friends. As you know this will all be weather dependent. Thinking of doing this route again, from a couple years ago. This ride: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=687880 ![]() If your new to the area and or new to dual sport riding this is a great opportunity met locals and perhaps establish a strong network of places to go and ride .

Nice, look forward to this one Sam, a great opportunity to get the Tiger acquainted with the dirt. We'll see how the schedule works out, this may be the day I have to leave for my next job in ND, and if it is, I may bug you to go out and do a pre-ride.

I was just thinking to myself that I wanted to head up that way and see how those roads are thawing out.

I do believe the treatments work and do help/prevent the fuels from breaking down..... never had any issues in any bike, but I do find that I need to replace/refresh the fuel in the lawn equipment after sitting the winter.
