My comment was less about the socio-economics of trailer parks around the world, and more about a giant and expensive tent being used so close to 'civilization'.

Is back country not allowed in your part of the world?

Oh I see what you're saying my apologies. Well as far as price you could probably spend more on a tent if you wanted to and yes it is giant but is still a motorbike tent and packs up small enough to carry on a bike. This trip was never intended to be back country, only on road and using caravan parks because they were cheaper than motels. As I said its too big for off road use and I wouldn't take it on one of those rides, in fact I'd only take a third of that off road. I saw another posters pictures of a bare bones setup with only a bivi bag, sleeping bag and lean to. As a former infantry soldier that's all I used to carry on my back when I had to live and fight in the bush uncomfortably for a living. I don't plan on roughing it outside of work to, its not fun anymore once you've done it for a living.

I think you're describing my setup a few posts back.

I too am former infantry and I think the lean to makes it pretty comfy (for me). I use the same set up for road trips.

Nice to know there are some other grunts on here!

Yeah it's a shame we over here tend to put our values on other parts of the world. I know the "parks" are great places and waaaaaaayyyyy different than what we consider a 'trailer park' here.

Nice set up,,,,,,,,,,BIG, but nice and comfy...

Guess you haven't been to the trailer parks in Malibu. Costs a minimum of a million bucks to live there....

Cooking: GSI soloist, MSR pocket Rocket a bare burrito for dinner
Sleeping: Thermarest blow up mattress crappy coleman 20 bag and even crappier big 5 backpacking tent i forgot to stake down, and yes the wind howled that night.

Spare clothes I didn't utilize and some other stuff in the wolfman E12's, favorite Pendleton in the tail bag with flip flops and sanucks, chain lube and other odds and ends. flash light, head lamp, sunblock, snacks, maps, bug spray, lip balm, pen, earplugs in tank bag.

I love the revpack, soft sided saddlebags, the ones without the internal plastic stiffener. You can roll them up and throw em in your tankbag and deploy them only when needed.

Those were some cheap bags that were on sale for like 8 bucks from an equestrian supply place. After a couple of miles of dirt I concluded that tank panniers won't work for me offroad, they won't let you get up on the tank. I'm probably just going to get a wolfman enduro tank bag and call it good.

Same story for me! Bought a similar set made by Tusk, on sale at Rocky Mtn ATV a couple of years ago. Figured they wouldnt work on my 640, then saw them in my garage last year and said to my self, what if......

they do fit just below/behind my legs. Just had to modify them a bit to be held by the seat and added some straps at the bottom! They hold 4 days of basic clothes(shirt/boxers/socks) and a few misc items! Pretty helpful for $10!

The measurement is close to requirements: 10"*13"*4"
And cheap as chips.
Horses and bikes, closer than one might think.
