air deflectors

Looking for some air deflectors that might be from aircraft. Glue on part is a circle but the upper section is oval plastic - clear. Not a great description and cannot find it on Google images. Want to place a few on my windshield to see if I can alter the flow over the top just a bit to smooth things out. Anyone recall seeing these? Pretty sure they were on some aircraft here and there.

They're out there and are louvered air vent covers. Under the little bubble is a hole in the aircraft skin with a flapper.

The hangar I used to work at and moved from last summer had a 45 gallon drum full of those things. If I was still there, I could send you a few hundred.

You could make similar using the bottom knubbies of a 2 liter pop bottle, to see if it'll work until you get the real thing.

They are about the size of a loonie or toonie in Canada, or a .50 piece in the US.

hope this helps.

good luck

OOOOO thanks guys. I will call those guys at Aircraftspruce tomorrow. I want those Vortex Generators but not 80 of them. Maybe they'll have a few laying around. I just need to change the airflow and may do some pop bottle and/or cardboard work and see if I am on the right track.

MRA makes a bolt on adjustable deflector/spoiler for any windshield. Twisted Throttle carries them.
