Ogden's Cigarette Cards

I hadn't heard of these before, but I'm sure a lot of other folks have. For those who don't know, they are trading cards that used to be included with each pack of cigarettes, prior to WWII. I've put together a collection of 25 cards (front and back images) from 1929 depicting dirt-track riders. Ogden's is a British tobacco company, so a lot of the riders are English.

Nice collection there Night train. Nice website as well.


You can buy modern framed sets at most of the bike events in the UK. I think most of us have at least one set bought by a member of the family who didn't know what else to buy but you can't beet the originals like yours.

Ogdens Nut Gone Flake by the Small Faces is a great album, especially the cover that folds out......opps thread drift.... but yeah I have a repo set of framed ones of bikes of the 20's 30's..... originals would be Dench ( new word for cool I picked up off Graham Norton show)

Nice little collection there ,surprising number of those on the cards were Aussies,enjoyed reading the little blurb,pieces of history.
