Looks like a killer trip!

P.S. If you're a professional dirtbag why aren't you riding a Harley?

Had a rough weekend. The plan was to ride out to wendover via lucin, all was good until we tried to cross the flats just before wendover. The road looked dry and even had sections where sand was blowing across the road. Obviously there were sections of wet too. But overrall it didnt go as planned and we spent the night trying to dig ourselevs out of the mess I got us into. 2 burnt clutches, 2 broken low front fenders and mud that was like playdough.

We were so stuck and with smoked clutches we had to call the wife to bring a trailer to wendover and retrive us. Problem was she couldn't get the truck down to us so we were on our own to get us out of the predicament. We had one bike with a good clutch so I swapped 2 good plates into the other 2 bad bikes and that allowed us to gimp out.

In one of the many low speed wrecks my son broke his top box, here it is being burned in hopes of making a black smoke signal fire for the wife to see. FYI innertubes make far more smoke

After we made it to the trailer my son still wanted to ride...thata boy:
Here he is putting good clutch plates in so he can slab it home

While my bike and his riding buddies bikes take a shameful trailer ride home.
Notice the front caliper zipped tied to the the cowling on the silver 950....it was a rough 2 days

Where did you start out from? How was the road until cut across the flats?

Started in layton and took the old rail bed out from promontory point. It was good but had spots of soft but nothing to bad. It wasnt till the flats that the fun began

So I take it that you left the grade and got stuck. Not got stuck while riding the old railroad grade?

We did the same ride two years ago. I loved the isolation out there. Gave new meaning to the sound of silence.
