I would check again your insurance numbers. I had a streetfighter and now the multistrada and the multistrada costs less to insure than streetfighter (ABS plays a role here, and perhaps also the designation sports versus touring).

Just bought a '13 Multistrada, sold my DL 650 and FJR 1300 for the purchase.
I am 60 so it was a no brainer for me. Since my riding days are numbered I chose to eat the whole enchilada and buy the Multistrata after a lot of research and asking for advice on numerous forums. Have 600 miles on it so far and very happy with my purchase. If you can afford it the Multistrada may be the best bike out there IMHO.

i put a 100k on my 05 DL1 with no major problems. wasnt that hard to do. but understand, i came from the cruiser bike ranks.

Seems to me like the cost of new bikes has gone crazy, you could buy 3 mint condition used bikes for the price of the new multistradas. It's like do you want an adjustable wrench or the specific tool for the job?
