glad you guys had "fun" that was a pretty fun race, other than being crashed into that 6' deep ditch and giving away 7 minutes!
oh well, another race next weekend...

This guy's mad about 7 minutes....
Do you have any idea how much time I spent on the side of the trail, trying to catch my breath, and stretch out my hands. lol
Not to mention on my face! :

Pete, congrats on the birthday. And that was a great bday present to yourself. Sorry to hear your hand got hurt like that. I whiskey throttled all over the place into trees when I first got mu two stroke. Riding with my hand on the clutch and foot over the brake has saved me a few times. Are you on a 2 stroke or 4?

I started uploading my video last night, but the interweb went oit in the middle of it. Hopefully, i will get it up in a day or two. Really wish I could make Union.

I'm on a 4 stroke.
It was just a momentary concentration lapse. My own fault. I had just enough time to pick which side of the tree to hit and in the process jambed my wrist into the bars, breaking my thumb. Stupid.
I'll be back on it soon though.
Pete

Looks like fun, but I'm too old & out of shape to abuse myself ( & my pride! ) by trying to race. I rode with a few racers a Brushy last month and learned my limits just trying to keep up with them...

They were A class racers, and I'd never even been to a real riding area (where you pay) before. But racing is all about pushing the limits, and I don't enjoy the physical pain that results!! I about broke my wrist...

I love riding tough challenging trails, but not at racing speed. I'd like to watch a GNCC race sometime though. Looks like some great action.

Pete, Glad to hear you are being so positive.

I uploaded the start of the race. Sorry Pete, but I don't think I ever caught what bike you were on in the starting line. Were you next to Dave?

Video is a little long. First 7 minutes is just me trying to get up the hill!

I hope to get some time to make a short highlight video, but a branch took out most of my race video.

I hear you. I won't be doing races that many times a year. Maybe 2 or 3 a year. But it gives me a goal and I rode a lot more offroad the past three months (well really this past month) than I ever would have if I hadn't done the race. The whole point of this was so I learn on something other than my expensive BMW.

Where are your next races going to be? Maybe I'll give it a shot. It looks pretty fun.

Rd 9 8/25/13

Fowken Farms Hare Scramble Jonesville, SC

Depending on how much riding I get in this summer.

Next GNCC race is in Union SC next week. I was originally planning on that being my first race because it is so close to me, but ended up having a conflict come up. I'd love to do another GNCC race again, but would definitely do another enduro or hare scramble series as well.

Is anyone going to Union?

I didn't race with you guys. I was in the back in trailrider. I'm on a ktm 450.

Found a video with me and Jesse in it at the beginning before taking off (at 00:52 just ahead on the right,) then me again after the mud-pit/hill-climb cluster f#@k (at 4:17-4:20 you can see me on the left, after struggling to get up the hill.)

Edit: Can't get it to embed for some reason.

I thought about going to watch, but I've been gone the last few weekends. So I'm going to stick around the house.
I may ride down for a little while on sunday.
