I hope to see everyone there...which means Mama is feeling pretty good!

Also, the "dirty" ride will be interesting for me this year, as I will be getting new tires when I get back....slip, slide and ride....I don't really mind too much if I drop it....that's why I bought a Suzuki that I can afford to mess up at times! I remember that first hill by the dirt track....OMG...that was slick as snot...no matter what bike you had!
I had my WR250R last year but had 80% street tires and was sliding all over the place too.

Looks like it will be dry this year so I'm bring the KLR that used to be Terry Hammond's. ;)

Oh its not so bad, as long as the creek isn't bank full!!

I liked it that year, we are all setting side beside at the top of the hill, looking down at the creek running bank full, so about 8 feet deep and maybe 20 plus feet wide, and somebody said, "Ok, whose first?"

Last year when we stopped at the little bar at the river they let us dry gloves and such in their dryer!!

Man we turned the corner and we were headed right into the storm , Don ( the leader) just looked back at me and grinned!!

That's Moonshine!

Hope the misses is feeling good!!

I wouldn't count on it being very dry with that storm that moved thru last night. It may not be falling from the sky saturday, but some of those "road" are going to be muddy and slick.

I've got D606's on the KLR so it will be ok. Actually it was pretty fun last year so I'm hoping for more of the same with less getting wet. ;)

We only got a 1/4 inch last nite and a steady drizzle today, as dry as it is I dont anticipate and issues with water height or too muddy, should be a good ride!!

If I think there will be carnage, I'll be on the KLR, If you see the KTM Im expecting good things/ easier conditions!!

MLR #9 is happening. Over 1000 riders, 1900+ burgers served. It was a crowd at the store today.

This was my first time at the Moonshine Lunch Run. I met up with my friend Sjaak Lucassen and we both agreed that we will have to come back next year. Me a little more easily since I live in Illinois and he living in the Netherlands. Non the less, thank you for putting on a great event. Met a lot of very nice people from all over the US. And for those of you who did not go but are wondering, the Moonburgers are fantastic.

Had a great time on my first dual sport ride that involved water crossings.
Note to self: waterproof boots.

That was a long ride home with frozen feet.

Yeah but ya made it !!!

I guess that the first mile of mud road didn't scare ya off your good to go. We never went down that road before usually down the highway to the motor cross track and go from there. I personally would not have guessed it like that at all. Don felt bad, said it was the only part of the route they did not drive the night before in the Jeep and having first timers along to boot. Everybody would have been fine other than that, I laid the KTM over once there too, Wished for a more aggressive tire or my KLR.

If you liked that riding Get yourself to Southern Mo. for the Missouri Swing Bridges ride the first weekend in May, or get the tracks and do your own thing. Lots of gravel and creeks to cross, most are slabs so watch for the green slime!! Also run down to Moonshine and do Big Dogs, River To River ride all in Shawnee NF. You go from Moonshine to Cave in Rock then across Il to the Mississippi all in Shawnee. The bluffs over the Miss. above route 3 are very cool!!!

Anyway watch the threads in the central region and you will see very doable rides for you. Indian Bones on the OD green Honda 650 at Moonshine? He posts up a Ride or Die ride a couple times a year..... Sand Water, Covered bridges, Etc. Some carnage!! LOL!!

If you get to wanting a MoonBurger, let me know I live here and know a few places to go...( IF I can go ) I have one little loop that has 6 creek crossing in about 5 miles..... the second and the last can be a bear!!! Not much hills and hollers here but if you know where to go along what we have for rivers it can be fun.
