Trev I know you were running around like a loon at the classic but did this get a mention around any of the fires http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=850154??

Kipo Youtube just sent me an email looks like that video of you has gone viral
I checked it out and seems like your biggest demographic is East German female weight lifters and H Block at Yatala oh and some guy there called Beven asked if you could do a special apperance for them I said I'd pass it on to you. Cheers Emu

Some 4WD guys might just aim for Alice, do the scrutineering and prologue thing, drive down the Finke River Road Saturday afternoon and then camp with everyone else at Finke for the arrival of bikes on Sunday, watch them leave Monday and then start the trek home, camp somwhere Monday night and finish it off with another overnighter in the Flinders.
We've got 100+ of us in the Flinders in April for the Flinders Ranges Classic and we'll probably finalise everything then.
Like I say, I'll post up the progress, but this was only talked about Thursday night over a few beers.cheers

Maye we even open open this up to a National Option and see who we can gather in the Finke River bed.

With some many Adventurer riders at the Classic this year, I would be interested in chatting to those who have indicated wanting to spectate the Finke Desert Race, June long weekend this year.
I have tried to get there for several years now, but due to circumstances out of my control, I haven't made it yet.
This is the year (hopefully )
Unfortunately I didn't get to speak much about it either at the Classic, so it would be very much appreciated to be kept in the
loop, either a spare seat in a 4x4 or riding.

I'm not too worried about the East Germans or H Block but Bevan is a guest here and only a few kms from where I live and would probably like to get even as my cousin was one of the coppers who got him for the Richard Kelvin murder.

Sol vs. Roo.

First of all thanks for everyone's get well wishes & thanks for all of Trev's efforts once again..

I had a great time up until Sat. morning at this years Flinders Classic.

I was riding along a track on a private property North of Blinman, in group of about 1 dozen or so riders.

Weather was perfect & the riding conditions were spot on, suddenly a roo came out of nowhere at full speed & hit me square across my jaw, neck, shoulders & chest as I was standing up on my pegs doing about 70kph.

The roo didnt make it & died on the side of the track.

He knocked me off my bike & I tumbled about 20 feet away from my bike over some decent sized rocks.

I think I was knocked cold out for a few seconds & I lost vision in my left eye for about 20 seconds which was also pretty scary.

After a while & with help from others I managed to get to my feet & got back on my bike for a slow & painfull ride back to Ango Village.

Thanks to Aaron & Lin for taking me to Leigh Creek Hospital in Aarons 4wd.
The staff & Dr. in Leigh Creek Hospital were fantastic.

Leigh Creek Hospital looked after me as best they could & due to suspect spinal & pelvis damage, they made the decision to fly me to Adelaide, however the RFDS Plane was not able to land until the storm had passed.

Finally got to Adelaide & spent a few days & nights at the RAH, after various Cat scans, Xrays & MRI's the good news is that my pelvis is not broken & my lower spine is very badly bruised & swolen & same with my pelvis & luckily there was no internal bleeding.
I certainly am black & blue all over & at this stage its very difficult to walk, however when I consider the impact it could have been much worse. My jaw is also disslocated & swolen, so no t-bone steaks for me for a while

Got home from hospital & will rest up this week & also next week, before I venture back to work.

The 690 came out of it virtually unscratched, apart from a broken mirror, broken indicator & the bracket that holds my top case/toolbox broke, apart from that its fine.

Thanks again to Aaron from dropping my bike & gear off home on the way through.

I was very dissapointed to miss out on the rest of the event & spending time with my fellow riders, was also totally gutted to miss out on Saturday Nights festivities, being one of Julia's secret service/guards & also sampling some of Wayne & Kev's superb Ales

Hope to catch up with you blokes soon.

Cheers, Sol (Dave)..

Ah, that's a topic that got very little airing amongst our group. Bernie would ride up anytime, and seeing as he may have a new bike before then () he may want to ride to Finke. He likes to trailer to Ango or Blinman and ride from there.

I actually get a kick out of scruiteneering Fri night and Prologue Sat morning in Alice and would leave that and drive down the Finke River Rd to camp in the vicinity of Finke Sat afternoon for Sunday's arrival of bikes and then start to head home after the bikes have left Finke on Monday.

I haven't locked it in yet, but if in a 4WD it would be Thurs/Fri to travel to AS, and home by Wed pm via the Oodnadatta Track/Flinders.

Bikes would probably take three days to get to Finke (Thurs/Fri/Sat) and then Mon afternoon, Tuesday and Wed to get home.

The Bikes could travel light and the 4WD carrying more extensive refreshments and food supplies for the two nights at Finke when they would all meet up.

The only problem would be finding someone with a suitable vehicle/trailer.

And I was up early every day eager to get back on the Tiger ....you were right...

Weather wise it was fantastic until the storm hit on Saturday afternoon, but even then it was still warming.

All in all, a great long weekend..

Anymore pictures of the rally and surrounding country, maybe minus the tiger
Next year for me, Greg (bull600) has given me a great list of places to see and do in the Flinders.
