Have her go to the Honda shop without you to look at the colors and the machine itself. You take care of the wheelin' and dealin' if she wants, but stay out of the pickin' and choosin'.

I've been married almost 38 years, and I still am married to the same woman. Sometimes to only way to stay together is get lost.

Find a good low mileage Honda Reflex. Seat's low 28.3, weight's a little higher but doesn't feel like it, prices can be real good, and color, depends on the year.
Reliable, freeway-capable, easy maintenance( don't even need a feeler gauge or shims for valve adjust.
Probably buy two for the price of a new 150.

2014 Piaggio Fly 150. It will be in showrooms in May. My wife is looking for the exact same thing as yours. My wife fits on the PCX just fine but doesn't feel comfortable with the hump in the middle. The Fly is a true step through. Supposed to have 29.9 inch seat that is narrow towards the front, 12 inch wheels, light weight, and a powerfull 3 valve engine. Disk brakes front and back. Glove compartment, huge under seat storage and a price of $2899.00. We plan on taking a look next month.

i took her to lake city powersports yesterday to try out the pcx150 and she LOVED it. we'll pick it up first week of may. as a spec nerd, i want her to try out the fly 150, but as a wiser poster observed: it's her decision and i need to butt the eff out. it's a sweet little rig. thanks for all your help, everyone!

edit: she's getting it in black, the faster color.

She won't regret the choice. Now, see if you can keep your hands off it.

i lied. she made a last minute decision change to red, the slower color. it's a woman's prerogative, i guess!

She looks good in red. My wife suggested we get two red ones. Then said, "No, one red, one black - so we don't look so matchy-matchy."

When I said, "You pick first," she picked the black one. It it any wonder we cannot figure out the fairer sex?

Our experience, so far, has been the red one is faster, the black one gets better mileage. Or, perhaps: I am heavier handed on the throttle? Or, on the seat?

Congrats to the Mrs. on her new scoot!

Best wishes,
Captain Jim

Nice scoot! Is a bigger windshield the first option?

Your wife, aside from looking happy on her new scoot, looks great on a red one. I'm surprised at how much it resembles my red SYM HD 200 EVO. You would think they're related.

Congrats on the new scoot, and also congrats to a poster who said just walk away and let her decide. Words of wisdom if there ever were.

And really, within 3 to 6 months she will want something different.

Best not to get too attached.

Grats on the new purchase! Those PCX150s are definitely among the best-looking modern scooters on the market now.

So you're in Seattle? When are you coming to a Vespa club meeting, Scooterist Happy Hour, or rally?

Right on! I'm the dude leading that ride, actually, so whether you come to Cafe Racer or just turn up at Scooter Barn come say hi. I'll be on the scooter in my avatar.
