This past weekend I drained the gas out of the snowblower and put it in the garage loft for the summer. Of course the mower is charged, sharpened and ready. Meh.

I did the whole block, both sides with the snowblower this afternoon. Stupid thing has been sitting in the garage for 2 years and I've only had one occasion to use it, and it wouldn't run. Sumbeech ran today and I got some adjusting and tuning done on it. Now watch it sit for another 2 years.

Gave my mower to my Brother. I'm never mowing again. Ripped out the lawn and putting in blueberries, blackberries, Rugosa roses, Aronia and grapes in the front. The back has more blueberries, grapes, raspberries, currants and strawberries. The side has figs and strawberries. You don't have to mow berries and they taste good. If I can't eat it I ain't watering it.

My randomness for the day,

I got a good idea, Tourist leave, or learn to drive, or get a clue, or LEAVE.

You can tell I had a joyful drive home from work.

Work took me to the Boston area this week... was in a working meeting 30 miles south of Boylston St. when the bombs went off. My hometown is Fall River, MA... about 50 miles south of Boston. I picked a hotel around here so I could pig out on seafood and visit with family after work.

I am shocked and saddened by the senseless and cowardly attack... especially upsetting is that an 8 year old boy was one of the 3 that lost their lives.

Not to make light of the situation, but... life does go on. And so, to add a bit of yang to the otherwise bitter yin, I popped into the Vanson Leathers Factory that just happens to be located in the city of my birth...

I really have all the riding gear I need, but have been looking for a "casual" leather... and found it:

Didn't take me too long after trying it on to whip out the old credit card, either...

Of course, spending serious scratch makes me hungry, so I had to stop in for lunch at my all-time favorite seafood place: The Liberal Club in Fall River, MA...

Pic from Saturday.

A shiny nickle if you can guess the trail.

A beer if you can guess the next date it'll be rideable again.

Nice

Looks more like trials than trails. Trailering my KLR out there to do some riding this summer. When do you guys think all the high passes around Gunnison will be open given the heavy late snow falls?

Depends on the pass. Southern Colo is pretty dry.

Kinda.. had to use the straddle-walk to get the rear tire up the last bit. Thought about going back for another try, but it was getting dark and I was afraid I may still have more snow patches.

Started with the goal of putting all my recent cardio to use on a there-n-back timed run. Then got down to the bottom and found virgin snowpack. Things slowed down a bit here.

We may have to settle on a definition of rideable, but I doubt the gulch will melt off until mid-May.
