Look harder at the broken pipe. 2 brackets are there.

I take it back. Sam's exhaust was using different canister clamps than Helder's. And yes, upon looking more closely you can see that exhaust canister has slid way back and up such that the second/rear clamps is still holding onto it. At first glance, it looks like the photo was taken at the instant the exhaust became detached but in reality it was a "static" situation with the exhaust canister still in place although completely wonky.

Well done Sam, a brilliant racing effort! The penalty takes away a win, but at the end of the day everyone knows who had the win, even Coma admitted it. That is saying a lot.

What is next on Sam's program this year?

We don't know yet, HRC are planning their campaign towards the 2014 Dakar so we hope to hear soon, but they are not in Qatar this week
If you consider the press comments of the new GM though then it maybe one more FIM round, but which one? plus Morocco

Ha ha. I just saw this. JayBo1 is right. My bike seized up on start of Day 2 and I couldn't even make the start. Needed new cam shaft. God knows what the 2 further hours were for (as if a 4 day penalty wasn't enough). I picked up penalties for speeding later which seems harsh in a motorbike race. Crashed on last day after launching off a lip. My race was ended when the Petrobras Mistubishi rally car made same mistake and rolled, right over my bike. Bike now sick. Depending on your point of view, I was very lucky. The only reason I wasn't with my bike was that I'd gone to recover a bit of fairing.
