SC told me it would take 1-2 weeks to get a cover sewn with a gripper top since it's a non-stocked item. I'm okay with that, but would I be better off with a smoother texture like carbon or embossed?
Hard to say, everyone is different. When I roadraced I used to use baby powder on my leathers when I had a new seat bad as I moved around on the seat a lot. On the DR I shift my weight around a lot on the road and I don't like it.
Offroad I would prefer it, though.

Bundy, sent you a PM. If it'd be easier for me to call let me know, happy to do that.

Thanks!

I had a Seat Concepts on my KTM690.

Just ordered one for a friends DR 650. Hopefully he will enjoy it as much as I did mine.

Terra seat

Hey Bundy -

Would you consider a no-step seat option for the 650 Terra? Lots of us big guys that want the additional height and ability to move around on the seat!

Thanks!
Paul

I did it

Called the guys at Seat Concepts today and after talking to them I ordered my seat on the phone for my 1150GS. Sick and tired of my ass killing me after 2-300 miles. They were awesome on the phone, finally guys that ride motorcycles making good stuff for motorcycles. When I get the seat I will post install and a ass report

Success!

I got the seat kit in yesterday, and I spent this evening installing the new foam and cover. For the KLR, I was having a bit of trouble getting the vinyl to conform to the dip in the front of the seat. Saw some advice recommending starting from the back, and that did the trick That said, I wouldn't make it in the upholstery business

I will report back after I have some miles in the seat.

Here are some pics of mine. I had them use red stitching to go with the bike. By far the best $170 I've spent on my bike.

Bundy, Do you make a new cover for the rear seat of the R1200GS Adventure also. I'm guessing no, because I don't see any buy info, though the GS Tall version appears to have a similar material rear seat in the photo, so I thought I'd ask.

Also just out of curiosity, when you remove the stock cover and foam, is it shot, or could you in theory reinstall it if you had to?

The stock cover and foam come off pretty easily, they are not glued on. I still have mine on the shelf. If you are careful when pulling the staples the cover will go right back on as well.

Last year I purchased a F800gs Tall seat, and now it have start to "compress" at the front (after about 20.000km) - meaning from the point where it normally slopes (for the normal hight) it start doing the same.

Is that normal ?

Otherwise the price/quality is as it should be.

Also have anyone tried the Suede option for the Tall F800gs seat yet ?

Btw. is Suede watertight ?

Casper

I got a box in the mail today. Nice! I'm going to Utah in a week and a half for some lazy solo riding, so I thought I deserve a comfier seat. Thanks Bundy.

These Guys no what the heck they're doing , Thats for sure.

I'm looking around the garage now to see what else can be re-foamed covered .
Marko,

Did you put a new seat on the L? What options did you get? I did not see a tall option for the Ls how is the stock seat height? You know us normal sized guys gotta have room for the boys. Did they have big boy foam, cuz I know you weigh a touch more than 250.

I was lucky enough to score a free SC seat at DV n00bs and I want the L to really pop!

Bundy, I am reading the thread to figure out what options I would like before I call you guys. I know that I want the gripper top to keep my butt in place. Debating on Honda red sides or carbon fiber sides.

Thank you guys for your donation the DV n00bs! 200 plus folks and a bunch of them n00bs. Hopefully we are starting the next generation off a good foot!
