Just put cycra probends on a 2012 with the stock Renthal bar. Fit no problem. I just put everything on loose, slightly adjusted lever positions, then clamped it all down when in good position. I could find a comfortable position fairly easily. Just keep playing with it.

I think all hand guard need to be fiddled with somewhat to fit.

HDB, with threaded inserts, they are crazy strong.

I have Cycra ProBends on my '10 690 and they are fine. Cycra has some different mounting options available if they don't quite fit with the standard mounts.

I had to make spacers and change some hardware to get my Cycra Pro Bends to fit but they have been crash tested and worked.
If I had to do it again I would have returned them.

I was looking at the Cycra ones but after reading this I will get some Bark Busters in orange/black writing. I ordered a scotts damper and risers from Rbott, will post pics once fitted

I really like the HDB hand guard design, but it looks like the upper handlebar center clamp blocks the entire gauge cluster?

I have a hefty amount of rise under the bars which might be causing this but it's never been much of an issue for me. I do have the bars rotated pretty seriously forward as I prefer the position when riding while standing...this speaks to the guard position and not so much the top plate though...

I use the GPS for speedo when mounted.

Hoots: What model Barkbusters are you using? When I looked at their site, I didnt' really see a specific model that looked right for the 690...

Riding season in Arctic Circle with studded tires has ended. That means riding season with knobbies has started!

More info about my bike in the video. Please apply some volume.
