That was a good read Ridge. Thanks for taking time out to share that. Takes a sack to keep pressing on in those conditions.

Set up for a 0400 2 hour bike 7 mile run brick workout.

0400 sucks. Sucks bad.

yeah, you'd want to run some pretty fat tires and keep them well inflated.

phew. this site says its a 37% grade.

http://www.frontiernet.net/~rochball...wns/canton.htm

ah, other sources say, that 37% grade is only for 6.5 meters :)

SF has a couple streets that are 30%+ for nearly a full block. they are closed to traffic, however.

this street in SF is just over 31% for a 250 foot block, and was open to traffic in the 1950s :-O

and this street on Bernal Heights exceeds 37% for several short stretches,

I think it's ballsy enough just to park your truck on that hill

Maybe there is and I just haven't figured it out...either way, I'm not racing so I don't care where my times wind up in relation to anyone else's, and I definitely don't ride with Strava as a motivation.
There is a 'Private' setting in Strava that you might want to look into. It may do exactly what you want. Either way, you're under no obligation to use Stava 'competitively'. If you don't want to compare your times to anyone else's, just ignore the other times.

That's a bit like saying that the only way to remain a bachelor is not to marry.

That hill looks killer. I wouldn't even walk up it. Might try and drive my rental car up it though.

My hill made me glad I bought the triple on my Roubaix. That thing saves me many times. I'm not a racer I'm just out to burn of fat, and try and maintain some fitness.
This travel thing has been hell on that this past year.

One more day here and I'll be home for a weekend.
