I have nothing at all against HD riders, but it can be a bit comical when you see them at dinner in the "kit".

I remember one MC show I went to, rode there, getting off the bike and swapping my gear for regular jacket and pants, sneakers and a hat, the hat may have been a BMW hat. Motorcycle parking on the 20° February day was right up front. There were 7-8 bikes, one cruiser. Crowds of people in line all wearing "kit" consisting of HD branded boots, pants, chaps, T-shirts, leather jackets with logos, hats, fingerless gloves and bandannas. Inside was a sea of "kit". Now tell me that HD doesn't do it to the extreme as part of the culture, while the rest of us riders are less likely to?

By the way, for a fact, there are plenty of non-HD "kit" out there for nearly all brands.

Jim

PS NOT HD bashing, just an observation.
T-shirts, even jackets I get. Wearing chaps (which are easy to take off) when you are off the bike is silly. Wearing them when you didn't even arrive by bike is either pathetic or kinky (or both)

You have become enthralled in a typo, with less comeback to the discussion.

I just think it is funny how pissed off people are here, and how arrogant. I bought a 10 year old jap bike with less then 20k, from a guy who bought a 10 year old BWM, again with less the 20k. But people here think it is just Harleys who sit in the garage. Jap bikes are so modern. But you say my 2001 Concourse is really a 1984, despite what the title says.

It is why I come here, it makes it fun.

Last year I took the first 10 listings of each brand on Boston CL that listed the mileage.

Surprisingly, there wasn't a lotvofvdifference: they averaged 2100 to 2400 miles per season.

I didn't see anyone mad, just a butt hurt person or two.

It was simply funny how ATKATT just seemed to fit. Sorry if it hurts that there is a stereotype and you fall into it.

I am not trying to change anyone's beliefs. It is like religion and politics, and can be fun to argue about.

I shake my head at all the HD crap people buy too. While I argue for loud pipes here, on Harley sites, I warn they will bring a hammer down on all of us.

So are these two views somehow consistent or are you just oppositional for your own amusement - you recalcitrant troll!

I've only ever seen rear window decals for two motorcycle brands: H-D and KTM. If you're so damn proud of your motorcycle, why aren't you riding it instead of tooling around in the truck every day?

I've got a couple of bikes that only get that much mileage/year. But then, I have five motorcycles.

lol.... memory whiplash!

Years ago I worked for a Harley dealer. It was near a few military bases (Schofield, Hickam, Pearl) and so we had a large .mil customer base, many of whom could not afford the Harley but spent lots on 'kit'. There was a decent bar a couple blocks away (saw Talking Heads there, one of their early tours before they were famous) where we'd go after work.
Not unusual to see half a dozen bikes outside, a coupe might be Harleys, and the bar would be packed with 'bikers', all kitted out. Doo-rags and dark glasses (inside, at night), fingerless gloves, boots, all that.... they carpooled there.

If it were orange (or the bike was red), sure.

Yeah, unfortunately they don't make an orange Aerostich Darien. Red is as close as it gets, but I think the red will be okay with the candy orange road king. I will likely get the black Aerostich Darien pants as well.

Thanks.

I had hard time finding Suzuki gear that wasn't boulevard/gsxr/4 wheeler.

Finally found a hat with the S logo and a counterfeit hoodie. Oh, and a keychain from a demo ride event.
