The Beta is in perfect condition. The owner/dealer is an extremely good mechanic.

I bought a Gas Gas 280 Econo and shipped it up from Lewisport in Ca, otherwise I would have been talking to Ben about this bike. I don't know if the price is exactly a steal, but it's not really a market I'm 100% familiar with.

It cost over $400 to ship the GG to Anchorage.

Regards,

Mr. BigWheel

Last I asked the guy, he wanted 1500 for the '93 (it's a GT-T) Super clean, everything works, it hits HARD for a bike of it's age. I went and looked at it before xmass, when he was asking $1300 for it.

On that 1993, he changed the front end (or someone else did). The conventional fork would be a much better option than the USD stock fork. Especially since some fork parts are no longer available for the older USD fork.

Fantic

I keep finding these Fantics, just a bit unclear one the parts avialability.
This one looks very clean: http://inlandempire.craigslist.org/mcy/3773806393.html

This looks like a goodie for the price. I'd prefer newer with disc brakes though...

I've posted before that I almost bought a 1990 Fantic 305. Mike at the Tryals shop in NY assured me he had a very full stock of Fantic parts, I guess he bought out a large supply years ago. The one I looked at needed crank seals and he had them in stock. I found the Gas Gas I have for the same price and it was newer so I bought it.

yeah not stock forks,Like I said it hits every bit as hard as my souped up '97 jtr270, definitely a competition bike! If he'd swing down to 1100ish I'd snag it and drop my 327 engine in it!

I paid $1,000 for the same bike in perfect condition. I have put a ton of hours on it. Great fun. I feal I still have a lot to learn before I "need" an newer bike.

Had to replace the fan and water pump impeller. That's it. Some body part are impossible to find. A lot of the engine parts from the Rev3 fit.

Rear brake is weak. Takes a lot of tuning to get the most out of it.

I have been told by long time riders "old bikes like that are not worth the cost to rebuild the engine.." Who knows, I was thinking of offering $500 for it as a parts bike. If it was closer I would.

The interesting thing of that `96 would be the `98 280 kit. The question would be if it comes with piston and rings? Used or what? Is the 280 on the bike and/or where is the 250 cylinder?
