Tire prices have stayed pretty high- prices went up when oil went up a while ago (understandable), but didn't follow it down (probably just as understandable ).
Great to hear good feedback with them!

searching sucks!

Hi guys,

I spent about ten minutes trying to find the post but was unsuccessful...

Was it Natty who replaced his fuel lines with orange silicone jobbies? One of my fuel hoses split and I used some generic stuff to get me by, but I'd much rather have the stock, pre-formed one.

Now, if one lets go, the others must be on the way. Has anyone done the research regarding cost of the originals and of the snazzy orange ones? What's the source of the aftermarket lines?

Thanks in advance,
Jason

I replaced all of my Coolant Hoses with the orange silicone hoses (samco). I replaced my fuel lines with the OEM that I ordered from KTM Twins. I replaced all of the fuel lines including the preformed pieces. I had one of the lines give out a couple of years ago (it was the piece from the fuel pump) and had replaced pieces here and there, but last year, I ordered every bit of the fuel lines and replumbed all of those bits. I'm not sure if they also make the silicone fuel lines. I went with the OEM cannot remember the cost off hand. I may have an invoice floating around somewhere. The little pre-formed bits I think were a little spendy, but most stuff is for these bikes.

Just offering my opinion. No agenda, objective or anything. I'm just interacting on the web with some like minded people, about a bike that I love.

It's great that you are doing what you are doing to try and help owners with a problem, It's much easier to sit and bitch about it than actually do something, so please keep us posted with the numbers that respond, and the results 'cos I am really curious about the extent of the issue. It might affect me as a fellow owner.

I've put these:

http://www.highwaydirtbikes.com/HDB_...ref=handguards

on both an SM and an Adventure. Tried the little fold out mirrors once and didn't like them. The handguards on the other hand are great. Perfect fit and the panel was very good for mounting Powerlets, switches and indicator lights.

Oh man I can't believe I'm doing this

http://www.advrider.com/forums/showt...5#post21334655

All good things must come to an end. And I miss every bike I've ever sold. But this one is really gonna hurt.

Anyway there aren't many used ones for sale these days. Any input on price is appreciated.

PS I haven't posted much but have appreciated all the awesome info and feedback here over the years!

Headlight question

I've tried searching to no avail, so here goes a probably stupid question:

On my 950SM headlight, the low beam only lights up a little bulb in the bottom and the main bulb (H4) stays completely off. The high beam lights up the main bulb. Is this normal?

Shouldn't the low beam use the main bulb as well, just at a lower power (different filament or something)?

Just switched from a 5th gen VFR, so I'm still getting to know this thing. And still trying to stop smiling.
