Any early 80's big bore 2 stroke, with a huge rear knobby tire, bout as much fun as you can have with your pants on. I'm partial to the IT 465/490 from Yamaha.

VMax. When that V-Boost opens up, nuff said.

A big VTwin cruiser. Why not, damn near everyone else has. Gotta be a few good reasons.

KLR650. It's gotta be the cheap bastige Scottish in me.
Actually they are quite good for 2+ mile long wheelies at a constant 70 to 75 mph. They are cheap to own/maintain, and don't make you wince when they fall over. You don't have to wear the latest fashions, or buy the high dollar farkles, a milk crate will suffice.

Gotta say a scooter as well, less than 200cc preferably, especially for a second bike if you live in a place like Florida. They are a lot of fun, functional, a wonderful lesson in humility, and will make you think your other bike is a lot faster than it actually is...

I started riding when Honda only imported scooters. My first bike was a Ducati Diana MK III, My second A modified Norton Atlas. Since then I have owned or ridden nearly every bike mentioned here, H1,2,3 Kaw triples and a KLR, Honda's from Scrambler to Goldwings, countless Harleys, Bmw's , makes you never heard of dirt to bagger. I was a dealer once and worked at a multi line dealership. lot's of great bikes but nothing ever measured up to the first two, especially the Norton Atlas. That is motorcycle nirvana. None of you will know what a truly great ride is because they have disappeared. I haven't stopped riding or looking. Have a Harley now a may buy a Concours soon.

I've owned a lot of great bikes, but my current bucket list of must owns:

Ducati 1198 or Streetfighter, everyone should own a crazy Ducati.

BMW s1000rr, may be the next one I buy.

BMW 1200 GSA. Come on, gotta try it.

Some Harley, just to say I did. Xr1200x most likely.

Hayabusa LE in white. I've had Busas, but this is my unicorn.

KTM Supermoto. I'll probably land in jail, but what a ride!

A beat up 636 stunt modded. Something I can literally beat the tar out of and not care.

Suzuki GSX-R 750. The perfectly balanced sportbike.

Any triple. My preference would be the Triumph Street Triple.

Any bike with gear driven cams. I'm thinking Honda VFR800 or Honda CB-1.

Any Ducati L-Twin.

An airhead BMW.

An airhead, best handling bike I ever had then the transmission took a dump so I dumped/sold it that way to a guy who wanted to fix it. That bike had a problem with something every time I rode it so it went away.
But it was the best handling bike in the twisties I ever had.

I don't understand why nobody has mentioned the Yamaha 650 twin.
