Guess it all boils down to personal taste. This guy toured from Paris to Vietnam via the long way around on a Yamaha TT250R Raid.

I've got a Dakar and while it's way smaller than the S10 I still wouldn't want to take it on gnarly offroad terrain, but then again I don't have a 10th of your skills. A friend has a DRZ400S nicely setup for LD touring with a large fuel tank, headlight and good luggage capacity. For me, that would be about the biggest I'd want to take.

Yea, like you don't have any place to ride.

I know better. And I only had 2 weeks!
(This month last year. I think on this day I was having a steak with 2 gents in Corryong. They were riding an RGV500 (mint) and sweet Guzzi V7)

Yeah everything is relative.

I went to Morocco with the DRZ and was fun in the sand but really boring and unconfortable in the paved roads or good tracks. There the Tenere must be better.

I guess how it can be in the sand...

I've lifted mine, it was surprisingly easy because the CoG is so low. But have yet to try it on a slope with a full set of luggage.

When loaded heavily, I had to pop off the top box. Without that it was no problem.

Finally got around to installing my Piaa 1100 leds. They are very compact and fit perfectly into the small space between the HB engine guards and the bodywork. Added the Skene dimmer and initially had it set on 50 percent brightness for low beam (going 100 percent when I hit the high beam) but they were still far too bright at night so I set them for 20 percent. Not much light output at 20 percent but they still make the bike a bit more conspicuous at night (if the other six lights don't do the trick ). Nice and bright at night when I hit the high beams, providing both good distance and fill.

Looks nice. The poster on the window behind. Oh even the lights look cool.

What lights are those, mounted beneath the headlight?
