20V, calm the f**k down! ;)

When you take that vacation to FL, look me up. I would love to set my suspension, but don't have a clue what that would entail. I'll buy the beer (Cigar City Jai Alai)

Deal. The single malt is calming...

Oddly enough - my local dealer has been in touch, offering me a test ride of their demo AS model. This is the one with the push button gearshift and electric suspension.
Lots of tech on that one..

Ancient slushbox tech, badly needs a DCT.

That one doesn't exist on this side of the pond but the setting options look pretty comprehensive. And if you ride often with and without a passenger and with and without luggage, I'm sure the electric programmed suspension settings would be nice.

I'm always solo, sometimes with the bags full so I can survive pretty well with the "hard/soft" lever and a click or two of rebound fiddling on the back and be good for about anything.

Your worst nightmare

Beaudry's Yamaha FJR-1300AP will arrive with a Whelen LED emergency lighting system (with 32 flash patterns), hidden Whelen 100-watt three-tone siren system, dual-linked battery system with 12 fused police-only circuits, front and rear 12-volt accessory sockets, front and rear protection bars, and height-adjustable solo saddle with heated seat option.

I take it that they plan on using traction control.

If only the FJR had a bunch of brand new, gee whiz, largely ineffective and complicated tech on it so it could be "up to date."

I would put my outdated FJR up against the Triumph on any road at any speed. Even though the Triumph has an extra gear, it still turns more rpm in 6th than an FJR does in 5th. The poor old FJR is also quicker and faster with its old tech 5 speed.

Yes, the core of the FJR is old. And yet it'll still slam the door on the Triumph in any test of engine strength. And imho, reliable performance never goes out of date. Any owner who takes the time to set up his suspension on the FJR will be rewarded with a great handling, fast, smooth, dead nuts reliable coast to coast mile muncher. Outdated my ass.
Yikes.... i just stopped in to this FJR page to see who was liking what, and I saw this. I have zero experience with the Yammy but I like all bikes. As far as the Triumph stuff goes.. error... I have a 2011 Sprint GT that is the closest counter-part to the FJR and it was treated like a red-headed step child in the US and pound for pound at 11k dollars new.... It gives the whole class of true " sport tourers" a run. ABS standard, tried and proven 1050 triple, 128 hp, great panniers and with the right pipe it just screams at red-line. I've ridden the big Beemer 6 and yes... its an awesome machine ( at least on the test ride) but at 26-30k by the time you are done... I'll take the Triumph GT any day. As far as the FJR... I am sure it is is very reliable. Just wondering if it has any personality?

Beaudry's is going to need all the traction they can get after the snafu with C14s. I hope they get enough interest that the mothership supports them better than Kawasaki did.

Just received the Doran TPMS today, and will install this week. Anyone else done this?

I have used the Doran on several bikes. I would like to install it on my '13 FJR but the valves are rubber and you need to use the supplied metal valve stems, so I'll wait till I replace the tires.
