Awesome Picture

What a great sequence of pics.
BTW I also had a 370 Fonterra.

All those years of riding together!

I have a "buddy" who I have been riding and racing with for about 40 years now. While we may not have "done it all" - we have had some times over the years. I will try to find some before and after pics.

BTW the "buddy" is my son.

You dont quit riding when you get old, you get old when you quit riding.
I don't always ride street bikes, but when I do I prefer VStroms

Yea thanks for sharing that - great pics of you and your riding buddy (then/now).

You should stage a photo in the exact same spot then post on the "Then / Now" thread - http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=758332

It was not too long after the first pic that I quit riding. In 1984 before my son was born, I gave away the 2 motorcycles and stayed off of them until 2008. In fact my friend was in France at the time and he had an extra bike so we went on a short trip around the countryside. His extra ride was (is) an old BMW K 75. I was not much of a road bike guy when I was younger but that bike spoke to me. It said "buy a Moto Guzzi"

Awesome Thread!

I have been lurking for many moons, but just joined today and after seeing this thread I decided this HAD to be my first post. I love nostalgia almost as much as riding, so old bike pics really get me.

This was my first motorcycle, a 1970 Benelli Buzzer. My grandparents purchased it brand new for my 3rd birthday at the local J.C. Penney store (you can see the plastic bag on the seat). I couldn't ride it for the first year or so, but I learned how to wash and wax in between rides with my dad. I can even remember my first time getting pulled over by the police because my dad wasn't wearing a helmet. Good times by the truckload on that little bike. Wish I still had it, but I traded it toward my second bike in about 1975. I still have that one (1974 XR75K1) out in the garage. :)

back then a toy was only dangerous if you could put out both eyes at once.

And there were no seat belts on cars. I can still remember the fights my brother and I would have in the back seat of our 55 Chevy while mom and dad smoked Camels and listened to AM.
