I have Sw-Motechs, had them on all of my bikes; find them ok. Wanted Nomadas this time, but couldn't; didn't want trouble in the customs.

ha I meant Texas QLD mate not US. :-)

having trouble getting bank to transfer money for bike, so wont pick it up till Monday now.

Will ride out to Texas (near NSW border on my Strom) you are welcome to join us if you want. (although not sure about accom)

Ther is some event going on declaring Texas as the first motorcycle friendly town in QLD (or something like that) I have been invited by a journo friend who is doing a story.

But even if you cant make it there will be plenty of other opportunities.

If there is one thing I don't like about the bike, it is that ugly ugly exhaust.. Anyone know what options are around? Pics please.
Ideally I would like a little stubby muffler that exits just behind the RHS footpeg. ala multistrada.

This might allow more options for fitting panniers without the need to fit one full size and one useless size.

They really should have stuck with the high mount twin exhaust.

If anyone knows of a solution I would love to see it.

You can get rid of this ugly look by spending a tiny ~1000+- euros on an Akra :-)))
I used to like higher twin exhausts too :-)))

I agree about the exhaust location it's like bmw and I don't think it works very well.

With over 140 hp at the rear wheel , the only one who should see your exhaust is your riding buddy. Seriously, i would rather spend the equivalent 1300 US dollars on four trackdays and learn how to ride this missile in safer surroundings.

Ive had Staintune, Remus ,luftmeister , Bills Pipes ( shortracker ) and FMF. They all had five things in common. High price, lighter weight, louder, most of the power gain at high rpm, and they run cooler. It occurred to me also that one other trait was shared. They got louder and louder as they got older. Some were re-packable but most were not. Loud pipes are annoying to me before the end of a long ride and became tiresome. YMMV

When my 1190 finally arrives I plan on covering up the muffler with a set of Nomado saddlebags with the cut out . I've learned a lot from you guys. Looking forward to October . Hope its early October.

Appears to be about a six month wait on the Rs now?

And only grey ones, I would prefer it in orange.

Is it true that you can buy Anti-tank for self defence in Texas ? Lol

August

My KTM Dealer in Scottsdale AZ is telling me August for my 1190R. His Service Mechanic was sent to the factory this week for training.
August in Phoenix on a bike is dangerous. 118 today!
Anyone else hear a date earlier than October?

Akra exhaust for the 1190 is stainless steel, covered with Ti for a nice look, so I don't expect it to be mega light.
Wings -and I'm sure other companies too- is about to release their exhaust, should be lighter and cheaper so if I were you guys I would wait for a couple of months.

There are a few pics of a twin exhaust project for the 1190R on the SA forum, so yes, it can be done
