For lower protection, I'm using dmv lower engine guards and sw motech skid plate.

So I was out for a fun ride up to Seattle from Vancouver taking the back roads... NF-25

Amazing vistas.

Then I come around a tight left, right.. see this

then a tight left onto a straight stretch.

I had to do a double take in my mirrors to make sure I actually saw what was there. They were up their logging and the guy on top of the helicopter is the mechanic.

However I did have one mistake. Going around a left hand corner I looked to my right for a brief second and then when I looked through the corner I didn't think I was going to make it. Instead of just leaning the bike more I straightened up and road off the edge of the corner. You can see my tire track. I had about a foot and a half to two feet drop.

I ended up turning around and going through the corner at the same speed as before, I just looked through the corner and continued with a smile on my face.

All in all it was a great day, even with the roads pretty much flooded when I was in SE Tacoma.

FLtrooper, Welcome to the forum. Nice looking Versys, beautiful looking wife.
Does it count if I live up in Washington and rode south to Grand Canyon Torroweep Overlook, Bryce Canyon, Zion Park, Moab, on my 08 Versys? Have around 15,000 on it and it's never let me down either.
some pics from that trip:

My son is on it right now going for a morning ride with a friend who has a Buell Blast.
I think the Versys would be fine going south of the border as long as your mindfull of the lower muffler clearance on potholes and crossing water that flows across roads.
Check out Radiomans's 2yr ongoing trip:

and you can see some great picks of his travels down there. Portland, Or south to Antartic, India, New Zealand, currently in Australia.

I noticed a Versys at the start of this years Iron Butt.
It and a Ninja 250 stood out amongst the other behemoths.

Best wishes on the run to whom ever it is.
