St. Louis Cardinals - First time ever at Angels

First time on the west coast for the Cards since 1929!!!!

Funny how the missus doesn't find that interesting.

Wow. Hard to believe that with all their success they never even had a playoff game on the West Coast.

Two teams headed in opposite directions right now: Angels on a 7-game W streak, Cards have lost 7 of 10, and recently suffered their first series sweep of the season at HOME vs. the Rangers. Meanwhile, the Pirates are rolling, and tonight withstood a 2-run homer in the 9th to beat the Phillies and stay at least 2 up on St. Louis.

Redbirds have lost their edge in the last two weeks, and have gone from 4 games ahead of PIT to 2 behind.

Edit: as the Cards score 6 on 4 hits and 4 walks in the 2nd!

My family went to the Cubs-Angels game when they were out in Anaheim at the beginning of June. They loved the park out there.

My wife is a huge Cubs fan, so to see my kid come home decked out in a new Pujols Angels jersey was more than a little funny. "Her aunt bought it for her."

Fucking interleague play.

The whole point of two separate leagues is that teams would never face each other unless they were in the World Series. That's a big deal.

Now it can happen during any season.
