Since I'm still using an Aerostich 2-pc Roadcrafter purchased in 1997, with six figure mileage on it, I'll say it's been my best gear buy. (And being red, it looks like it has seven figure mileage.)

Next up would be a pair of Lee Parks deerskin gauntlets, bought at least ten years ago. Still use them, and have another pair waiting patiently for their demise.

'Stich elkskin gauntlets are still in regular use after more than ten years. Another best buy.

I have several pieces of "epic" gear. My Vanson Ventilator jacket that I bought about 1999. I still wear it on every summer ride. Next my Held Sambia gloves are my go to gloves in all but the coldest of weather, with the exception of wet weather. The newest piece of gear that I'm very fond of is my Motoport mesh kevlar street jeans. These pants are stout to say the least. I've put about 5000 miles in these pants and they are impressive. I feel very secure in them.

Obvious choices

I have tried many variations of gear over the miles and some have proven to be keepers I keep coming back to.

1) Sidi OnRoad boots because they have never ever ever leaked. You don't realize how important this is until you ride for days in endless rain with wet socks. Same goes for the Adventures for dualsporting.

2) A Gerbings heated liner has changed my fall/winter riding life forever.

3) Arai helmets. Because you are worth it. I wish they made a modular one and I would never buy another brand again.

4) Lee Parks Deersport gloves. Comfy for 10 hour days and you can wash them.

5) Heated grips.

6) Ear plugs.

BMW Santiago boots. Bought them used from an inmate and wore them from the arctic circle to Argentina. Plenty of regular use since and they're still waterproof and comfortable- and that was 3 years ago

Flightar. I live in Melbourne Beach. How does the Darien do in our July-September heat? I'm in search of a new jacket that is waterproof and vents well.

I had an IXS jacket that just fit me perfectly. It was awesome. I left it draped over my bike and it apparently slipped a little on to the hot exhaust can. Done! IXS is nearly impossible to find in the US anymore.

It's usually always my newest purchase that goes to the top, but I'll put my Alpinestars Stage perforated jacket I bought about 8 years ago. Still looks like new. Hardly wear it anymore but I don't think I'll ever sell it.

Probably an odd choice, but my Forcefield "Limb Tubes." I use them for leg armor and they work for most everything in my wardrobe. Runner-up would be my Scorpion Hat-Trick 3-season perforated jacket.

Hats off to you guys with more than 10,000 miles on a Aerostitch..mine got sent back at 8000 miles with 12-15 holes worn thru the inside..2 at each piece of velcro, on each pad pretty much..

Not impressed, could've bought First Gear and had better gear that would last longer..prolly won't be a player for Aerostitch again..fool me once and all that..

The warranty service was xcellent though!!
