Hey guys, I wanted to get your advice on where there are some fun, longer dirt/gravel roads out in Western Tidewater.

I've heard references to them, even one person mentioning a link of roads that would get you out to 95 via gravel/dirt.

I'm gradually getting my VStrom set up for as much off road as it is capable of and want to get some more experience off pavement. I'm not looking for single track OFF road, (like most of you true dual sport riders are), just some fun non paved roads, they can be flat and boring, I just want to get some miles on them.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

And I just received a set of these sweet Heidenau K60's that I hope will do better in the muddy and soft stuff than the stock slicks which are about done at 6500.

Thanks Mowman for the MOWtavation!

Learned how to hack a few settings in my browser to make the Walmart site show me where ammo is in stock.

There is allegedly boxes of 325ct Federal Automatch .22LR at the Walmart on Nimmo Pkwy out by Dam Neck.

I might be available to ride on Sunday. I was thinking about Reddish Knob/Long Run. I'll be in Charlottesville Saturday, so I can meet you Sunday...maybe

Thanks, I haven't looked at this one yet, I glanced at the one DirtViking posted but i've been busy unpacking this past week. I got the bikes last week, Beemer is G2G, Kawi needs a clutch adjustment but I'm running the Beemer now back and forth to work.

Also looking to find the next and nearest total control course to attend in the next couple of months. One can never get too much training! I appreciate the feedback. I am having to forcibly restrain myself from rolling down the middle when I hit traffic on the 64 though. Got really used to doing that in europe, can't do it here...legally.

ah, so that is why they kept scrubbing the launches. They wanted to light 'em off on the 4th.

I'd love to head up there sometime for a launch but it seems there is a pretty high rate of them being postponed.

also, Carl Sagan's Cosmos series is on Netflix if anyone likes that sort of thing. Pretty cool for being 30 years old.

Good ol' concussion today at the end of this. Almost got it on the first attempt, did it on my second but not to my liking, and concussed on my third attempt. Video uploading.

Is that Kevin hiding behind the pole? Pretty clever spot take pictures from.

Hope you are okay, you have balls for trying that.

Yep, that was me behind the pole. This had something bad might happen written all over it. He nailed it on the second try and the third was looking great til the very end.

I bet he's going to be sore in the morning. He's fearless and a bit crazy.

It was all good, 'till it wasn't.... That was a ballsy attempt and I give you credit for that!

I've been thinking the same thing. I would love to take my 7 yr. old son up there and see a launch, but it's about a 2 1/2 hour trip and they seem to cancel more launches than actually launch, for good reason I'm sure.

We've been launching some rockets ourselves...https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=4820417952406
