You better hide behind that brick wall

So I guess no one else wishes on some longer road sections that a little wind protection would be nice huh. Oh well to each his own.

Oh and if you just tie a rope to the trailer and then run it around your passengers waste it will work out just fine for all parties :)

Was it a rally kit? These make for a great dual sport or adventure setup. We have one in stock with lights, here.

No, it wasnt, it was a small add on like you would find on a naked bike or something, I think it might have been the MRA RNB that they sell at twisted throttle, but I wanted to see it on the bike again before clicking buy. I thought I had his email, but he hasnt answered back and I cant find him on here anymore either

Yeah,a windshield seems to be right in my way when Im tucked in flatout railing through sand whoops, then if a decent crash arises who knows where that somewhat sharp edge piece of acrylic shield will end up?
I dont put extra stuff on the front of dirtbikes, just an old habit.

Eyeball a KTM Super Duke touring screen. 4 bolts and a few bushings from the hardware store. It'll get the wind off your chest. I used them on a 950SMR and a SE with a X2 headlight. Effective and pretty cheap too. Flexy enough when bolted to the shell that it shouldn't kill you in a crash, doesn't move at 100 MPH.

Yes, the 2008 KTM 450EXCR piston kit was superseded with the 2010 part, 78030007200 to -> 78030007300. Also the same part for the 450XCRW.

Good. Your manhood remains intact.

I just don't get some of the 'conversions' some make to bikes to purpose them for something they are not built for. If someone really thinks they need a touring screen, maybe this bike isn't the bike for them. I would not want this bike if I wanted/needed to do any paved distance, e.g.

was the crankshaft updated as well?
Yes, the crankshaft changed throughout the years. It went from 78030018100 in 2008 to 78030018200 in 2009 to 78030018300 in 2010. Michhub also listed the SXF crank but that is a different stroke and not compatible.

The rod repair kit was superseded once from 2008 for 2010, so that explains the 3rd crank change. Went from 78030015044 in 2008 to 78030015144 in 2010. I do not know what changed on the 2008 to 2009 crank then if it wasn't the rod.

Don't know what the actual changes to the rod were and if you need them. Could have been carburizing, material change, shape change, etc. If yours is still in good shape, probably not worth buying a new one.

BUT we do know the piston rings were changed for 2010 so that is definitely worthwhile.
