Lower is usually a lower torque at least on upside down forks and here is what the manual says:

HH clamp bolts on top triple clamp M8 23 Nm
HH clamp bolts on bottom triple clamp M8 18 Nm

On my way home from school.
Wil do the clamp control today. Tear it down to move the afm unit.

Gregor; you dont have time to write here...get on with the house. I'm keeping an eye on your efforts at GJ. Looks stunning.

See you have changed to a high fender, what fork guards are you using?

And can only say that the bike looks AWESOME!

17 and 12 (upper - lower) are stamped on my 300 XC triple clamps. Same for my 690 triple clamps.

update before vacation next friday.

Bike was torn apart and the hunt for the Afm unit from Bazzaz got me this.

Checked the airfilter how it dealt with this very "open" environment.

closer

Inside

I would say. Perfect.

And at last i dropped the bike off at the tuner.

Should be done Thursday. If im lucky i can skip the Master Sergent parade and head straight home to colect the bike.

That would be, perfect. I have not worked out the issue with the front. Things im preparing to do it:
1- skip the 320 and go for the 300mm standard disc
2- get the right tourqe values on the clamps
3- Mount up some k60 Heidenau 21/18

Have a nice summer OCs.

Regards

Is it perhaps the relocator bracket that makes the design too soft?

Im so tired of this. It happens for both the 21 and 17 setup. The brake setup is the 320mm with the standard 2 pot. I have checked that;
1- aligned the forks
2- tightened the wheel at the axel first then worked the forks a bit, tightened the clamps.

Ive been in contact with 2 other owners of the 320mm OTR setup. Where one of them is having the same problem.

This is NOT any kind of flaming of Lyndons ber suspension and i am in contact with him and having a great dialogue with him. Though if any would have some thoughts or the like that could/would help, chime in. Im keeping this suspension, just need to get past this sticktion problem. Seriously, I couldnt back down from this......
I rode about 500 kms today 1st time with the 320 mm disc setup with the oem 2 piston caliper, 17" rims oem fork&shock (in good condition). No fork issues whatsoever. Great brake by the way! It feels like I can do a stoppie @ 165 km/h (but Im too much covard trying). I have a much fatter Braking rotor than yours. Could (stiffer rotor) perhaps explain the difference?

Nice to hear it works. I can only think that its my lesser skills which have lead to this problem. Bike will be in my hands next week and will try address the problem.

I guess you mean 320 mm disc? Otherwise, the pope is catholic.

Well a little update.

Bike has been run in and all is almost well. But(t) there is a bite. The engine isnt performing as wished. I know we all need 1000 bhp, but this is the bottom. At crank i assume the RC8R 09 put out 176bhp, that would be in the ballpark of 140-150 on the rear, am I wrong? The curve is very "stepped" and not linear? Would could any of you knowhow tuners give me your thoughts. Im well aware that my bike will not perform as an standard RC8R though this is far from.
Setup is:
RC8R 09
Straight 2-1, 2.5" akrapovic
Rottweiler airfilter(actually ITG, but same same)
Bazzaz tune box
Run in is made with SuperDuke rear slick tire.

Ive tried to think of what ive changed and cant remember anything significant. Apart from needing the "ram-air" system. Then again, if the Rottweiler system works well on RC8R then i assume its not there.

hmmm

anyone.

Edit:
I have forgotten that i do not have any ballancing pipe as the LC8 have. Would it be "un-ballanced".

On to a another thing. My Aqualine had made a leak at the fuelpump gasket. Pulled the tank and would take it off. The 3 first screws went good but then Murphys law struck me. The recessed part in the fuel tank started to turn around. Before i go apeshit and burn it all, i would like to know if any of you guy have thought of some external fuel pump for this(both 990-1190). Then i could seal up the hole and mount the fuel pump elsewhere.

Regarding my binding front end suspension from Lyndon im working out an solution. Annoying but we got a good conversation going.

Have fun.

Is there any case the timing is gear-related and you are now running a restricted power ignition map?
