ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS??? I need to send in the updates

Hey folks,
I just got off the phone with Court @ Butler. We were discussin some of the roads shown on the THC map & I brought up the fact that there could be some worthwhile additions/corrections that could be included in the upcoming 3rd Edition due in about 2 months. I found some road corrections myself but did not have the time to make notes while riding.

Due to their current schedule of map projects (& the limited people power to get em done) We'd like ta ask for ya'lls help in making some additions & corrections to the roads shown. OR....If you have a new road submission to add. Local riders tend to run these roads on a much more frequent basis so those folks will have the suggestions needed easily.

One such road condition correction is Llano CR114 (I think) which runs from the small community of Oxford on TX16 west & north over to RR2323
Shown on the current THC map as gravel....It is actually paved all the way. UPDATE!!!

Another small detail that would be considered is where a county road ...say CR157(just a number I picked) intersects with another CR...say Long Rd. You hafta make a turn on Long Rd for a short distance then CR157 picks up again. Those kinda details make the map much more accurate for our out of state travellers...or anyone who doesn't have a detailed knowledge of the area.

I will be compiling a list of these additions/corrections so the folks at Butler can then incorporate them into the next THC map printing. You can send your suggestions to me via PM & I'll contact you back with the result. PLEASE DO NOT SEND THE SUGGESTIONS DIRECTLY TO BUTLER. We need to keep this simple by only submitting 1 list with ALL your suggestions.
SUGGESTIONS WHICH ARE USED WILL GET YA A FREE THC 3RD ED MAP WHEN THEY COME OUT. I'll keep a list of each accepted submission & get your map sent out to ya.
If there's anyone else with any suggestions for corrections or updates to the Butler Tx Hill Country map..... Better send em to me within the next few days. I need to forward the suggestions to the folks at Butler soon.

So far only one person has sent suggestions.

FREE 3rd ED Tx Hill Country maps will be given to folks whoz suggestions are used.

Our map works in conjunction with MotoQuest's Alaska guide book.

Can't wait for the Alaska map. Put that together with the book mentioned a couple of posts up make perfect riding companions. For those living outside of Alaska coming to ride, I recommend an Alaska Gazetteer map book also. They are very, very detailed maps to make the perfect vacation planning package.

Yes we will have a package with our map and Motoquest's book on our website.
Indeed an Alaska Gazetteer http://www.amazon.com/Alaska-Atlas-G.../dp/0899332897 is the other key guide piece to bring with you.

Sorry, I have not heard any word yet but i'll look into it more.

I have not been asked to work on all the dirt roads layer of the road and add them and that is always a key piece for me to know a map is coming real soon.
I also add all the POI's such as hot springs and such.

The CDR/CDT. No sorry. I'd say download Big Dog's gpx and go from there.

Our state maps have some of the CDR roads on them but not all.
I do all the dirt road work for our state maps (non-BDR) and I'll see how much of the CDR roads I can add to the new NM map to label the CDR roads plus when we update and reprint CO > WY > MT. It might take awhile, but maybe we can make it happen.

We plan on creating our own route with the AZBDR (to be released in Jan 2014) connecting with the UTBDR and then connecting with the IDBDR (hopefully riding in 2014, but nothing concrete) to Canada.

When complete, this would make a great alternate direction to the CDR.

Can't wait for the AZBDR. I rented your Washington backcountry video from Amazon and really enjoyed it.

Thanks for all the work you put into making a quality product.
