10 vs 10R

I can see how the size differs between the 10 and 10R models. I can't quite tell if there are any functional differences. Does anybody know?

Thanks,

Used my 10R paired with the 10B on the G/F's helmet, perfect.

Had a unit to unit pairing question, gave Rocketmoto a call, they replied quickly as did Sena both great customer service companies. No issues pairing to the iphone, went smooth.

My initial impression of the 10R is the amount of cords / connectors take some effort to hide. not difficult just some thought. No issues mounting the unit and the battery pack on my Nolan 104 which has the internal shade and that is a issue for mounting the mic, made a small plastic bracket and attach it with adhesive to the helmet shell then attach the boom mic base to it. In a position so it will reach my mouth and allow the internal shade sliding lock to function. The Nolan just has no real estate in the area the mic needs to be attached.

Unit itself love the low profile not even slight wind noise when I look sideways as opposed to the 10B, which is really slight.
The three button is easy to find an operate, volume and speakers were good, comfortable conversation at just over half volume.
Really like the button feature, glad to get rid of the big knob as I was bad to look left and my collar would depress it.
Phone conversation was good, music was good.
Overall, very pleased with the purchase, Rocketmoto and Sena.

Got it today and ripped the box open like it was Christmas. Appreciate the yellow bonus item too. Wish I'd have had it last week in northern Michigan. Folks, this company rocks.

For the folks asking about earbuds. I just spent 11 solid days wearing S plugs and they are the most comfortable earbuds I have found. I have custom molded, have used er6i and many others. Google s plug they are worth every penny.

As was said earlier, everyone's ears are different. That being the case I am an all-day er6i wearer. I was looking to wear my 6i setup with the Sena. I understand they sell an earbud mount but I heard it wasn't stereo. Is this true?

Cheers
Brett

Thumb Yo! Pm sent:)

PM'd

for SMH10D-11 http://www.rocketmoto.com/index.php/...icrophone.html

How much extra for the Tork speakers?

Is the 'Tork Booster mini amplifier' worth considering or is it overkill?

I had originally considered the newer slimline SMH10R but am inclined to believe the knob on the non-"R" is more 'glove-functional'.

Cheers! Looking forward to ordering!!

When you get a chance, shoot me the group buy price on a pair SMH10s for my wife and I. Possibly a third for a friend that rides with us often.

Thanks!

I PM'd last week, just looking for a note with the info needed to order up an R.

though one question. How much of a difference is there between the 5 and the 10R? I'm interested in the FM radio, but if there is a big quality difference I'll just find a plug in FM radio and a bluetooth dongle.

Thanks

So, let me understand, here... You mounted the mic on the outside of the helmet?

On your Nolan, the boom mic goes completely inside the helmet. It affixes to the hard inner styrofoam behind the cheek pad and the boom goes into the slot on the bottom front left side, where the Nolan mic is intended to come out. We do this all the time. Or perhaps I misunderstood what you said?

The SMH5FM and the 10, 10R all have the same speakers. But anyone that has had us upgrade any Sena with the Tork X-Pro's will tell you that these speakers are in a different galaxy that the stock Sena speakers.

The SMH5 (non-FM) speakers are OK, but for the cost of buying the large speaker upgrade and you can get the FM version that has the large speakers already.

The SMH5 is a basic kit and is great if you're on a strict budget or if the CFO has to sign-off on purchases .
