Did you just have the additional horizontal stap holding them to the rack? Did that prove to be enough? If you have a close up pic of how you strapped them you can reply to me here or just PM me. Thanks!

WOW, that's a tall windshield!

-parabellum windshield. Check out their website. I think it's just www.parabellum.com Great windshield and they provide the hardware to mount it on the outside of the plastic and it is very sturdy. I have since crashed offloading and broke the windshield and have been riding without one - which I find to be the most stable of all options.
I think no windshield is the best way to go. I recently put the stock windshield on mine after a few weeks of none, and I really don't like the way the windshield seems to direct the air flow right into my face. No wind shield seemed to have less buffeting.

I put the same new-design-for-first-gen-KLR parabellum windshield on mine. The ONLY way I could reduce buffeting was to have my chin right over the gas cap.

I called and the woman had me check some distances to see if I had the right height and whatnot. Parabellum honored their guarantee and the experiment cost only shipping.

i ran a 10" on mine for a while. but the buffeting was too much to handle. I swapped to the stock and it is much better. its noisey, but dosent' shake me around. i've ran with none and its not bad either. i prefer clean air to turbulent air.

I've ran 3 different height windscreens on my '05 and I cant tell a difference between any of them. I just left the one on there that looks the coolest to me. I have a tall CeeBailey's that i probably should sell.

Agreed. I ran a taller windshield on my '05 for awhile and it was terrible. I really should sell it one day, I bet it would be good for somebody that is about four inches shorter than me.

I'm not sure what Mama Kawi was thinking with the KLR fairing and windshield. I never did like the whole fairing package and learned to highly dislike it when I got caught in the rain and it funneled it right to my face, with the buffeting I had enough. Removed it and never looked back. Have a fairing now from a KLX and never looked back.
