Update was eventually applied, on the replacement unit, and no problem since. I'll call it close as far as I'm concerned, but confidence in Garmin is chipped further again; hardware design is mediocre (including device speed), software UI still looks like early 2000 and testing/QA is obviously not done by people who care, and certainly not done on the road!!

Thanks Travex, I feel fortunate indeed. That satiated feeling upon returning is a difficult thing to explain to my non riding friends, but sounds like you are about to embark on your own quest for it. Hope your ride is safe and fulfilling and the Zumo 350 behaves.

Safe travels.

Completed a ride around Lake Huron and Georgian bay without a single error. For my purposes it seems to be fixed... At least until the next update.

Good news, you certainly deserve a working unit Travex. Hoping yours is now good to go.

When do you leave for your trip ?

Thanks very much guys! Let's hope those problems are behind us all. Will be leaving late this month or early next. Considering doing a RR.

The unit's been operating as expected for quite a while and I'm pleased by that. Finally.

There has been one minor failure however. The sliding animation that gave attention to a low fuel level (after unfailing reset of fuel setting at each fill-up) has since failed to appear with a corresponding low fuel level. Not a big deal, but an issue nonetheless.

Every rose has it's thorns hey Travex ? Sounds like your major bugs have been cleared up but you continue to have a few glitches.

Hopefully that last few issues will subside and you can finally rely on the unit 100%.

Thanks again for the thread and your diligence, it helped me and I'm sure many others sort out our units.

Did you report the issue? I've still never used the fuel thing.

Thorns indeed Meff. Glad it came in handy. Wish I had a penny for every good bit I've learned from this forum.

Naa... Not going to bother with a small bug. I'd hope that Garmin has an eye on this thread and others germain to 350isms. It'd be foolish not to take advantage of a free product barometer.
