This little piggy went to market...

And this little piggy went " **** **** ****" all the way to the doctor. Not even a cool story to share, pinky toe and bathroom door tried to occupy the same space at the same time. The door won.

Doc says I might be able to ride again in a couple weeks after the toe starts to heal.

What is the collective experience with broken toes and riding?

Easier to ride than to walk.

did they just splint it with the other toe? I broke mine once and I was surprised how little they can do for that little guy. Didn't stop me from riding, but it was my right foot so didn't have to worry about shifting fatigue.

good luck with the recovery!

Uhh, if it hurts that bad, cut the fucker off
Tape it to it's neighbor... you know, the one with no roast beef (or tofu as the fools at my daughter's school teach it now ) and get riding.

It actually hurt a lot less than I would have imagined. If it had still been pointing the right direction I would have never expected it was broken.

I'm keeping it all taped up to the adjacent piggies per the doc's instructions. My only real issue with it right now is wearing a shoe on that foot. I like my shoes snug, my toe is not currently a fan of that.

I might have to go buy a pair of shoes too large just to wear to work. Even though my boss knows what's going on I still dont think he appreciates me walking around the office in just my socks.

When I played football as a lad, broken toes were a fairly common injury, from being cleated. So were broken fingers. No Doctor visits......Just tape the toe to its buddy, and grimace when you put your shoes on. Fingers were splinted, until game time, when they were taped.

(I have ugly toes, and a couple of slightly curved fingers).

As an interior lineman, I damned near flunked typing class.

I've decided to start telling everyone who asks that "a skateboard kicked my ass". It should make for a better story.

I've done that. Twice. Same pinky toe. 30 years apart. I wear MX boots, so my criteria was getting the foot into the boot, which I was able to do after a few days. After that, the first couple of shifts hurt a little but no big deal.

The last time I did, it a couple of years ago, I walked into the emergency room at 1am and the sweet young thing behind the desk asked how she could help me, so I put my foot up on the counter and pointed at my obviously broken toe and said: "fix that."

Why were you riding your bike in the bathroom?

Decided to go for a ride with my son as a passenger yesterday, no issues once I got my foot in my boot.
