Coolah Tops

Hi All,
first attempt at a ride report; here goes

Did a Sunday solo to Coolah Tops NSW. Weather was clear and cold ( 4 deg C ) and there had been rain in the previous days. After a 100k slab from home I headed up the gravel access road to the National Park. The higher I climbed the colder it got. I had underdone the clothing so had to make a quick stop to add another thermal layer.

The road in was hard and dry which looked promising. As I got closer to Breeza lookout the track got a little wetter and muddier.

A tree across the road had me acting adventurer as I had to build a log ramp over it. The 800GS is a little heavier than the WR!

On to Breeza Lookout

and after thawing out in the warm sunshine it was time for a cuppa and kick back for a while.

Time was ticking on so I packed up and headed back up the trail.

A 4wd was coming the other direction and as I am such a polite and friendly soul I stopped for a chat. it was Farmer Roy and his wife and son out for an afternoon's explore. I mentioned the tree across the trail and Roy had roped it out the way.

Very kind of him but I didn't get a photo of my solo effort

The run home was uneventful except for an idiot in a car that wanted to sit on my arse regardless of the speed I was doing. Thankfully he ( or she ) pulled up in Merriwa and apart form a B double cattle truck fertilising the tar I had an open road home. I look forward to catching up with Farmer Roy, Lentil and any one else from the NW for more exploration of the area.

wood stove

Doctor,
short and sweet! Will try a bit harder next time.
Wood burner works well. I start it with a bit of firestarter cube ( cheating ) and it boils the little kettle in a couple of minutes. cools down quick when the fire is out which is good if you are on the move.

What crash bars have you got there? Are they GuardIT? have you ever dropped it with those on and if so do the handle bars touch the ground when you do?

Hi Redviffer,
I can't remember the brand. Here is the Aussie link.
https://www.adventuremoto.com.au/pro...roducts_id=375

They were and easy fit and the finish is great. Made in the UK if that helps identify.

Touch wood I haven't dropped it and don't intend on doing so !!

Doctor,
if it hasn't burnt out ( with fan on ) I tip out hot ash and leave fan on for a couple of minutes.
