Still sounds like you guys had a..ummm.... exciting adventure. I am sorry guys but I did give advance notice on my bowing out. This has not been a good year for me and riding; I'm still limping from my Pony Express injury. I think it better to break a bone instead of tearing muscle.

That said...............Where's the pictures of mayhem?

Heading back up to the mountains in a couple days where there's no internet, and as of late no good fishing either.

I do owe you, hurt me way more than you. On second thought I wasn't puking at work. We could swing up through Cascade n pick up the crip and ride up to Big Creek. Than wander home or something. Root beer is called spicy drink by my grand daughter, I could spring for a 6 pack. I have a funeral this weekend. After that I would be open.

Dan Noyes, MY ADV on adv rider, is putting on an awesome ride in the Portland area this weekend. I had to cancel a few hours ago cuz of the funeral, you could get my spot if he hasn't already filled it.

A few pics of all the excitement is truly warranted.

Alas, I too am busy with family events this weekend. Let's shoot for a 8/3,4 or 8/10,11. After my fail at Boulder Basin I'd prefer something that isn't too gnarly. (I'm still licking my wounds.)

fun, but I'm not taking the Super Ten there...

It was actually easy on the DRZ, I was hoping to try it on a bigger bike this year , but alas no joy in that department.

Sorry you weren't able to get a beast to bash-up on the Louie Lake Rd...
Here's an idea for a good simulation:
take your DRZ
add about 300 pounds of weight to it (kinda like handicapping a race horse)
put some slick tires on it

lower it about 4"

now; take it up that road and bash it against every boulder and ledge till you finally spin out 30yds from the lake cause you can't get any more traction...

see; you don't need the big bike, you just have to use some imagination and modify the one you've got to get the same experience!!

Even though it doesn't sound like it, I really did enjoy that ride...

One also needs to weigh in the cost of having such fun..... big difference hammering a 5k bike in the rocks vs a 15k bike!

My DRZ is way used to having nearly 300 lbs on it, and for the record I used to race the Clydsdale class in MTB races

.... There's no way Tyson would take a 600 lb Tenere (successfully) where he's taken his XC.... although he might try!

Louie Lake was the hardest big bike trail I saw before Boulder Basin. Peachy for sure. Seems the best destinations take a toll.
