Road

Usually if the load starts to move it will take everything with it there have been issues with the road falling apart under the truck due to the massive weight

Funny... all that work to dress up that Offenhauser, and the guy left an inch of excess hanging off the hose clamps.

How it's made

Dream Cars.

Nice 30 minute show on the Science Channel. Caught the end of the Maserati build, all of the A8 build and now watching Ferrari build.

Sweet engines, built by mostly high tech computers but fucking amazes me that the engine molds are made of sand.

That picture brings back memories. I used to do maintenance on diesel engines nearly that size. We used them to provide emergency electricity on an aircraft carrier, in case the reactor ever went down and we lost steam power. I was a versatile diesel mechanic back then: I worked on two of these, and twelve little Detroit 671s.

Those big diesel generators had winch systems installed permanently in the overhead, in case we ever needed to pull a head off the block. I'm glad we never had to!
